Le Jardin Secret is een rustige historische tuin verborgen in het hart van de Medina. Gebouwd tijdens de Saadische dynastie, het was ooit een koninklijke riad en is prachtig gerestaureerd. Tegenwoordig beschikt het over twee tuinen – een islamitische tuin en een exotische tuin – gevuld met weelderige planten, fonteinen en traditionele Marokkaanse architectuur, die een rustige ontsnapping bieden aan de drukke soeks.
Het Bahiapaleis, wat schittering betekent in het Arabisch, is misschien wel een van de best bewaarde historische bezienswaardigheden en zeker het meest interessant in Marrakech. Dit uitgestrekte paleis, gebouwd tussen 1866 en 1867 door Si Moussa, ligt op meer dan twee hectare in het midden van de medina van Marrakech en beschikt over 150 kamers, waaronder een haremgedeelte vlak bij het zonovergoten Erehof. Het Bahia-paleis, dat tijdens het Franse protectoraat-tijdperk de Resident-generaal had gehuisvest, is tegenwoordig een historisch museum dat u niet mag missen en dat dagelijks voor het publiek geopend is. Het heeft eerder evenementen georganiseerd zoals de Biënnale van Marrakech.
De souks van Marrakech (overdekte markten) vormen het krioelende en verwarrende onderbewustzijn van de stad, een uitgebreid netwerk van straten die vaak doordrenkt zijn met zonneschijn. Er is een specifieke specialiteit voor elke souk in Marrakech, inclusief tapijten, lederwaren, kruiden, metaalbewerking of kleding. De eerste prijs die de dealer vermeldde, is over het algemeen een grote veelheid van wat ze verwachten. Hagelen is noodzakelijk. Frans is eenvoudig, maar geldbesprekingen en handelaren weten dat Engels altijd spreekt.
Jemaa el-Fnaa ( Arabisch : ساحة جامع الفناء Sāḥat Jāmiʾ al-Fanāʾ, ook Jemaa el-Fna, Djema el-Fna of Djemaa el-Fnaa) is een plein en marktplaats in de medinawijk (oude stad) van Marrakech. Het blijft het belangrijkste plein van Marrakesh, gebruikt door de lokale bevolking en toeristen.
De Ben Youssef Madrasa is een islamitische madrasa in Marrakesh, Marokko. De madrasa is vernoemd naar de aangrenzende Ben Youssef-moskee en werd in 1564-65 CE in gebruik genomen door de Saadiaanse sultan Abdallah al-Ghalib
Dar El Bacha, of het "Paleis van de Pasja," is een prachtige historische site in Marrakech, gebouwd in 1910 als de residentie van Thami El Glaoui, de machtige Pasja van Marrakech. Bekend om zijn prachtige Marokkaanse architectuur, waaronder ingewikkeld tegelwerk en gesneden cederhout, diende het paleis als een politiek centrum en een locatie voor overdadige recepties. Na restauratie herbergt het nu het Museum van Samenvloeiingen, dat het gevarieerde culturele erfgoed van Marokko toont door middel van traditionele en hedendaagse kunst. Fab day Esme on the 3 hour Tuk Tuk tour. Picked up from our Riad on time and taken all around the city! 6 great stops with plenty opportunities to take photographs and explore. Really relaxing and enjoyable day and we each received a lovely little gift and a box of pastries. Would highly recommend. Massive thumbs up from my friends and I and thanks again Esme - you were a star!!
This was a really lovely and novel way to navigate the souks and sights particularly in high August heat; it was great for my 3 teenagers who weeeent keen to explore but the Tuk Tuk meant they didn’t have to walk! Booking was easy and we had good communication with the tour operator the night before with a clear pick up and drop off point identified by a photo that all the locals are familiar with! We were kindly given 2 tuk tuks for the 5 of us (2 adults, 19,18 and 14) which we were very grateful for because we would have really struggled squeezed into one. The tour was great; our drivers were fab navigating round the tight streets and crazy traffic of all types! We whizzed through the medina’s and also had a longer stop in one so we could have plenty of shopping time which is what we really wanted to do and it was nice knowing we had our driver close by. We visited the secret garden and then just stopped and viewed the other sights from outside as we weren’t bothered by entering and time would have been tight as we chose to potter the souks. The lovely sweets and water were very welcomed by us too. The drivers were really lovely and happy to be flexible to our tour. Would highly recommend as an alternative tour. We were sent guides to listen to the day before as this is clearly offered as a driver tuk tuk tour rather than a guided tour. But again due to the high intense heat this was perfect for our group. I had considered a walking tour instead with a tour guide but we would definitely have found this tough in August. If you would love to be toured round the sights with an audio guide and can flexibility and are happy to do background research then this is a good option!
Communication was good before the trip and the driver arrived early. We visited lots of sights and were given time to explore Bahia palace, souks and gardens. The treats and water were a nice touch as well as the gifts at the end of the trip! This is a unique experience and a good way to see the sights of Marakech! Would recommend!
Our driver was early and communicated well the day before. We got to see lots of sights of Marrakech and we had lots of time to explore Bahia palace, gardens by the mosque and souks. The desserts, water and gifts were a nice touch to take back with us. I would recommend this as an interesting way to see Marrakech for first time visitors.
It was quite calm. The driver is very attentive. Drive slowly. And I even got some delicious candy .

Amazing experience and what a way to see Marrakesh. Can’t believe how small some of streets were we went down. Explored the souks and took us to all the major landmarks. Also looked after us with water and waiting for us.

Fabulous experience! The pick up was punctual, super communication from the driver. My friend had walking issues so we booked this for a tour around the Medina. Honestly, it was the perfect way! How our driver managed to get through all the narrow alleys is beyond me. She was the best driver!! Lovely cookies from a local bakery was included. Great value for money. I would do it again for the fun!!! Highly recommended!!!!
