Een food tour met The Bordeaux Foodie! Ga mee met onze Bordeaux food tour en ontdek de stad als een local. Terwijl u door de emblematische geplaveide straatjes en historische wijken wandelt, ontdekt u het rijke erfgoed van Bordeaux terwijl u enkele van de heerlijkste lokale delicatessen proeft (en drinkt). Pey Berland is een historisch plein in het hart van Bordeaux. Dit levendige plein is vernoemd naar de Pey Berland-toren en biedt een mix van architectonische schoonheid, culturele betekenis en levendige energie. Op dit plein zullen we praten over de klokkentoren, de Sint-Andreaskathedraal en de beroemde bruiloften die hier plaatsvonden. Hier, vlakbij de kathedraal, zullen we de beste cannelés van de stad proberen
De kathedraal Saint-André, een architectonisch meesterwerk, midden in het centrum van Bordeaux. Het fungeert niet alleen als een baken van geloof, maar heeft ook een betekenis langs de historische pelgrimsroute Camino de Santiago. Bovendien vonden hier ook enkele van de meest iconische bruiloften uit de middeleeuwen plaats.
Het gebouw werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd tussen 1771 en 1784 en deed dienst als aartsbisschoppelijk paleis van Bordeaux. Momenteel behoudt het zijn betekenis als het administratieve centrum van de stad en een prominente setting voor officiële bijeenkomsten en ceremonies
Rue des Remparts in Bordeaux, Frankrijk, is een charmante straat rijk aan geschiedenis en omzoomd met prachtige gebouwen en kleine ambachtelijke winkeltjes. Letterlijk vertaald naar 'Straat van de Ramparts', roept het het middeleeuwse verleden van de stad op, ooit begrensd door beschermende muren. In deze straat stoppen we bij verschillende eetgelegenheden om wat brood/gebak te proberen, een honingproeverij te doen en wat charcuterie te kopen.
Deze gebogen poort staat op de locatie van een historische toegangspoort tot de stad, die dateert uit de oudheid, inclusief de Romeinse tijd. Er zijn aanwijzingen dat deze plek ooit de thuisbasis was van een tempel ter ere van de godheid Jupiter. Anderen beweren dat het de barrière was tussen de historische stad Bordeaux en de joodse wijk. Tegenwoordig is het een van de meest iconische monumenten van de stad, zeker een bezoek waard.
Gelegen in het hart van de gouden driehoek van Bordeaux, toont dit Grands Hommes verfijnde architectuur, luxe winkels, culturele locaties en enkele van de beste eetgelegenheden van de stad. Tijdens de 18e eeuw fungeerde dit gebied als de bruisende oude markt van de stad, maar naarmate Bordeaux zich ontwikkelde, veranderde de markt in de loop van de tijd in de elegante wijk die het nu is.
Place de la Comédie valt op als de grootste plek in Bordeaux, niet alleen vanwege het plein, maar ook vanwege de adembenemende uitzichten die het vanuit elke hoek biedt. Hier vindt u het beroemde Grand Théâtre (de opera) en het luxueuze Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux tegenover elkaar (beide zijn ook de thuisbasis van 2 Michelin-sterrenrestaurants). Vanuit elke hoek strekken zich lanen uit in de verte, waardoor bezienswaardigheden als het Monument aux Girondins op Place des Quinconces zichtbaar zijn. Dichtbij de opera zullen we verschillende soorten chocolaatjes proberen van een van de oudste chocolade-instellingen in Bordeaux
Deze tuin van 11 hectare, ook bekend als de longen van Bordeaux, herbergt een verscheidenheid aan verschillende plantensoorten, een perfecte picknickbestemming en gewoon een oase van rust midden in de bruisende stad.

An absolutely wonderful experience. Alexandra was a terrific tour guide. She blended historical information about Bordeaux with the food and wine we tasted. It was a great sampling of the food in Bordeaux, and the charcuterie she put together for the wine tasting was superb. We all enjoyed the tour tremendously and recommend it very highly.
If you love good food, good wine, history and being in good company the this tour is for you. Our guide Alexandra (who runs The Bordeaux Foodie) was informative, friendly, professional and funny. Fabulous tour! Alex is aptly named the Bordeaux Foodie and conveys a real passion for the city and its gourmet offerings, along with interesting and amusing anecdotes linking the food to the city’s history. Fantastic introduction to local sweet treats and a local beekeeper’s shop devoted to an astonishing range of delicious honeys … heaven! Plus, of course, shops dedicated to cheeses, meats and chocolate, where selections were made for our lunch, according to our tastes. Finally, Alex prepared a delicious platter of these while we were introduced to Bordeaux wines in a local cave and then we munched our way through the guided pairings with a couple of glasses of wine. Delicious! A very pleasurable morning; great food, interesting chat (and no up-selling) and to be thoroughly recommended! Thank you Alex!

Amazing tour of Bordeaux filled with delights! It’s rare to have an excursion tailored with such thoughtfulness, and the special touches did not go amiss. Alexandra was brilliant at introducing us to each stop in a fun and informative way. It felt like a natural family day out! This was the only tour we could find that my 8 month old nephew could join too! The treats were delicious and the order of them was perfect. We could 100% recommend!!
