Deze historische sightseeingtour laat je kennis maken met de geschiedenis, het erfgoed en de schoonheid van Antigua. Een bezoek aan Betty's Hope is een must. Een voormalige suikerplantage die een prominente rol speelde in de 300 jaar oude geschiedenis van Antigua en Barbuda. Je zult ook het natuurlijke fenomeen Devil's Bridge verkennen, een natuurlijke brug of boog die is ontstaan als gevolg van de golven van de Atlantische Oceaan die in de oostelijke kustlijn zijn neergestort. Rij door schilderachtige dorpjes terwijl je je weg baant naar het Interpretatiecentrum om de cultuur en het erfgoed van Antigua te ervaren. Ontdek de ruïnes van de 18e-eeuwse Engelse Garde Post, Shirley Heights, die een spectaculair uitzicht biedt op de Engelse haven en de naburige eilanden. Rij door het weelderige tropische gebied om een uit de eerste hand te bekijken van de Antiguan zwarte ananas, de zoetste ter wereld. Monsters van ananas, en mango (seizoensgebonden), evenals een rum punch of fruitpunch worden aangeboden.

Devil's Bridge met zijn beklijvende geschiedenis is absoluut adembenemend. Deze brug werd gevormd doordat de golven van de Atlantische Oceaan constant tegen de kalkstenen rotsen beukten, waardoor in de loop van de tijd een natuurlijke boog ontstond die gevuld was met geisers en blaasgaten. Terwijl de golven tegen deze zelfde kalksteenrotsen aan de kust blijven breken, creëerde het een prachtig natuurverschijnsel. Deze halte belooft een unieke en ontroerende ervaring te worden. De kalksteenformatie kan erg glad zijn door de golven en het is niet aan te raden om bovenop de boog te lopen.
Deze site biedt een spectaculair uitzicht op de Engelse haven. Op een heldere dag kun je een aantal van de naburige eilanden zien vanaf dit uitkijkpunt.
Bij aankomst zal onze chauffeur/gids u ophalen, ontmoeten en begroeten, hetzij van de aanlegsteiger of bij uw hotel. U wordt meegenomen naar de verschillende bezienswaardigheden en attracties.

Our guide Michael was great and we had such a good day! Nelson’s dock yard is for only 20 mins you can easily spend hours there so be aware!

Tour with Leslie was great. He was knowledgeable and efficient. Easy to find at port. We had three stops that were great and got to eat “purple pineapple”. Shirley’s Heights was our favorite stop. Tour was not customized or personalized but still a great day. Antigua has the prettiest beaches and water!

We were surprised and delighted to find out that our trip was just the two of us with our driver/guide Michael. He was really knowledgeable about the island and very easy to talk to. He took us to all the planned places and we had long enough at each one to get a feel for it. He had drinks for us on the journey and a large tub of pineapple to eat which was a real treat and very welcome. We absolutely loved Antigua and hope to return one day. Great trip and beautiful island.
