Wij bieden niet zomaar een rondleiding aan, maar een andere manier om de stad te beleven. Overal komt de geschiedenis tot leven dankzij oude foto's, illustraties en gravures die laten zien hoe alles er eeuwen geleden uitzag. Dit alles is gebaseerd op diepgaande en bewezen kennis, het resultaat van jarenlange historische en culturele verspreiding. Als je het wilt bekijken, kun je ons vinden op sociale media, je zult er geen spijt van krijgen.

Ontdek een van de oudste gebouwen van Cádiz, waar u kennismaakt met de geschiedenis van de oudste stad in het Westen.
Na een verkenning van de Barrio del Pópulo, de oudste wijk van de stad, bezoeken we het pronkstuk van Cádiz: de kathedraal. Daar vertellen we u het verhaal van de handel in Cádiz, de connectie met Amerika en met het monument.
Na vele interessante bezienswaardigheden te hebben gezien tijdens onze verkenning van de markt en de steegjes, komen we aan in de Barrio de la Viña, de meest traditionele wijk van de stad. Daar zullen we de relatie tussen deze wijk en het carnaval, het volksleven van Cádiz en het strand van Caleta toelichten.
We bereikten de plek met het mooiste uitzicht over de stad, waar de zon, de zee en de kastelen samenkomen. Geniet van een van de meest historische stranden ter wereld.
We duiken in het hart van het carnaval van Cádiz en vertellen het verhaal ervan in de tempel die vernoemd is naar de legendarische muzikant Manuel de Falla.
Een van de grootste pleinen van Cádiz, waar we meer te weten komen over het leven van de kooplieden van Cádiz, de uitkijktorens, hun paleisachtige huizen en de legendarische Calle Ancha, waar handelsdeals voor de halve wereld werden gesloten.
We bezoeken de tempel waar de eerste liberale grondwet van Europa werd opgesteld, de grondwet van 1812, ook wel bekend als La Pepa. Daar worden de gebeurtenissen van de Cortes van Cádiz en het Napoleontische beleg verteld, gebeurtenissen die de wereldgeschiedenis hebben veranderd.
We bezoeken de hoogste uitkijktoren van de stad en het indrukwekkende paleis waaruit deze oprijst.
We sluiten af met een bezoek aan de tempel van de goede gastronomie in de stad, waar we de beste restaurants en de meest typische gerechten uit Cádiz aanwijzen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of Cadiz with Joaquín. Joaquín took us around his old town telling tales of how the Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, Spanish royalty, traders with the New World, Napoleonic French, British and others (even a handful of Irish) all left their mark as Cadiz's prosperity, power and influence rose and fell over the millenia. We heard how the basements, selection of stones in the walls, street corner adornments, balconies and rooftops all had their own hidden meanings. Great walking tour in old town of Cadiz with Javier Bonnemaison Correas. I highly recommend to use them. Very good knowledge of history of Cádiz as well as Europe and the old world.
It was great to get to know the city throught the eyes of a local historian. Very informative and also amusing, we saw how the city looked, what the people of Cadiz did, how they trade... Superb experience.
The tour was a perfect mix of history and culture, and Javier was a charming and friendly guide with lots of recommendations for food and visits. It was nice to be led around the old walls and passages of Cádiz by someone who knows it so well, and it was particularly interesting to be shown old photographs and prints of the city. Would recommend this tour for sure! We were only sorry we never got to taste the churros as the recommended place was closed when we returned - we should have checked the opening times!
This was the best tour to gain a better understanding of Cadiz. Joaquin was so knowledgable and passionate about Cadiz, I’m not sure we could have gained as much information from any other tour. He kept on apologising for his poor English, stating that he wanted to learn more - but his English was fantastic and definitely much better than our Spanish. He provides this service with his brother - mainly due to their passion about Cadiz which they need to be commended for. My daughter - who studies Spanish took notes all of the way around as he was so interesting. We cannot recommend this enough - we loved every single minute of it ! It was a very pleasant visit where we learned many interesting facts that we didn't know, even though we know the city very well. The guide is very kind, friendly, and you can tell he is passionate about his work. We will definitely repeat soon with another tour ❤️
Javier was our English speaking tour guide. He sent detailed information for the meeting spot in advance to us. This was helpful. His knowledge of the history of Cádiz was engaging. He was happy to share, and answer any questions about this city. He also gave great recommendations for eating spots once the tour was over. I would use this tour company again when visiting Cádiz.
An outstanding tour that brought the history of Cádiz to life. Using historical photographs, illustrations and engravings, the guide showed how the city has changed over the centuries, making every stop fascinating. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and clearly has a real passion for Cádiz. We learned so much about its history and culture, and also received some excellent recommendations for places to eat and drink. If you want to experience the real Cádiz rather than just see the sights, I highly recommend this tour.
Javi knows countless details about the city beyond the usual reviews of buildings and corners. In fact, I have the feeling that he keeps a lot of aspects to avoid giving travelers the impression of having an excessively "cultured" or "heavy" guide. A guy from "Cadi Cadi." I would repeat it
