U maakt een rit langs de Maligne Valley road, een prachtige schilderachtige weg die door een dramatisch berg- en boslandschap slingert. Medicine Lake staat erom bekend dat het elke zomer ‘verdwijnt’, het resultaat van een uitgebreid ondergronds karstsysteem — een van de grootste ter wereld. Dit is zeker een foto waard
Vanaf Medicine Lake volg je de weg naar het prachtige Maligne Lake, waar je deelneemt aan een schilderachtige boottocht van 90 minuten naar Spirit Island. U stapt aan boord van een comfortabele gesloten boot met grote ramen voor een schilderachtige tour op Maligne Lake. Je boot stopt bij Spirit Island, een klein juweeltje in het meer, waar je tijd hebt voor foto's en een korte wandeling.
Gedurende de dag zal uw gids de natuurlijke en menselijke geschiedenis van het gebied uitleggen en oog houden voor de overvloedige fauna die hier leeft. Waarnemingen kunnen onder meer beren, herten, kariboes, wolven, elanden, dikhoornschapen, Amerikaanse zeearenden en visarenden zijn, tussen de vele dieren in Jasper National Park. Amazing tour, super knowledgeable tour guide Wynn (Sundog) for the bus section. We were so lucky to see Black bear, marmot, deer plus a bull Elk. For the trip across the lake we had Captain Sam C and Jordan R the gave a light hearted but informative trip across some of the most amazing scenery. Absolutely recommend
Had a great tour with Evonne as tour guide to Maligne Lake and Sydney as guide on the boat to Spirit Island. We were able to see wildlife along the way.
This is a great tour. We were able to see some wild animals on the way. The remnants from the wildfires on the previous years is part of the forest beauty. Boat tour on the Maligne lake is beautiful. Spirit island is just gorgeous. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Pack a lunch/breakfast depending on the time of your boat tour. The views from the boat and around Spirit Island are amazing. We were disappointed with Sun Digtours. Our bus had open seats. We waited at the pick up and no one purchased tickets. At our first stop we waited over 30 minutes for 4 people to join the tour. They must have missed the bus at the original pick up. Not sure. So our bus full of customers had to be delayed while we waited quite a while for the other 4 to catch up. We missed seeing a Moose by just a few minutes when we finally got to the lake. Our driver, Norm, was extremely patient with the company making him delay his tour. In my opinion, if you miss the boarding time of your tour, you have missed your scheduled tour. Choices would be to forfeit your $$, or book a different tour. Not sure what the written rules are. I would assume it is not to delay an entire bus to accommodate 4 people that missed the bus. It was quite unacceptable to those of us in the bus
One of the best tours we’ve been on. Kevin was a fantastic guide and so knowledgeable about the area. It is obvious how much he loves his home. Very lucky to see a black bear, 3 grizzly bears, moose and elk. Would highly recommend as all places we visited were beautiful particularly the cruise to spirit island.

This would be the perfect trip to explore Jasper if you have mobility issues. They stop at all the view points and show you the super short walk to the best views, as well as provide a lot of information. Our tour guide answered any questions we had and shared lots of valuable knowledge. If you’re looking for a more active sightseeing tour, I would suggest looking somewhere else. Some things I would have liked to know before hand: there are toilets (outhouses) available at every stop along the trip. Before the boat tour, they give you time to explore the lake house and use a fully functioning washroom. There is also an opportunity to grab snacks at the house before the trip. Be sure you have WhatsApp! They sent us messages via WhatsApp at 5 PM the night before, alerting us that our tour had a 2 hour delay, but since we don’t use WhatsApp, we never received the message. They did not call us until 8:35 AM, after the time we were supposed to be picked up. The boat was also running 20 minutes behind, so expect delays all around.
I really enjoyed this tour! Our guide, Jeff, was very kind and knowledgeable! We visited lots of the spots early and stumbled across some wildlife! The boat cruise on the Maligne lake was breathtaking! Honestly, I wouldn’t mind doing it again!
We had an excellent trip to Medicine Lake, Lake Maligne and Spirit Island and our guide , Abbie, was knowledgeable and delightful. Highly recommended (despite the light snow at one point which we didn’t expect in June!)
