We wandelen 304 trappen naar de Gaddafi-moskee, die het beste uitzicht op Kampala biedt, terwijl we ook de zeven historische heuvels kunnen zien waar Kampala zich voor het eerst begon te ontwikkelen! In het King's Palace geven we je een geweldige geschiedenis van het koninkrijk van Buganda en bekijken we de martelkamers van Idi Amin van dichterbij! De graven van Kasubi royals zijn een UNESCO-site, maar ze vertellen je veel over de cultuur en tradities van Buganda.

Nadat we elkaar hebben ontmoet, gaan we direct naar de Gaddafi-moskee, bekend als de Nationale Moskee!! Een begeleide wandeling naar binnen en vervolgens een geweldige wandeling van de minaret (toren) naar de top om een spectaculair uitzicht op Kampala te hebben.
We zullen doorgaan naar het paleis van de koning van het Buganda-koninkrijk om meer geschiedenis te krijgen van het dominante koninkrijk in het land, maar ook om de autoresten van de koning, het kanonkanon en de martelkamers van Idi Amin Dada te zien.
Ga dan verder naar de koninklijke graven van Kasubi waar de vier koningen van het Buganda-koninkrijk werden begraven! Omdat het de begraafplaats is voor de koninklijke familie van het koninkrijk Buganda! De 84 huizen van de echtgenotes van de koning te zien krijgen !! Het is niet te geloven dat een koning vierentachtig (84) vrouwen had! Maar het is ook een UNESCO-site.

I had a great experience with Olivia who guided me through Kampala hills. Learned a lot with her and the two guides at Kabaka's Palace and Kasubi Tombs, Ronnie and Jessica.
The three places we visited were well worth seeing. The mosque is amazing as are the views from the tower. The Royal Palace and tour along with the view back to the Parliament building are thought-provoking and the burial tombs are interesting. We enjoyed the walks from each location, though it was a long way from the Palace to the tombs! Our guide, Malik, was excellent and full of interesting information.
As a solo female traveller from the US, I felt super safe on this trip. My guide (Malik) was amazing - very thoughtful and knowledgeable. It was a walking tour throughout the city, but honestly I liked this even more than driving/boda boda since it meant I got to see even more of the city that I would have never seen on my own. It was definitely a great experience I’ll never forget!
Our walking guide Getrude was amazing, she was keen to inform us about history in Kampala and led us to each site. At the mosque with all the seven house of Kampala and learn about the neighborhoods then at the Kings Palace, we learned more about Ugandan history, then the tombs were we learned more about the spiritual aspects of Ugandan history.
Gertrude did an amazing job showing us the 3 sites, answering questions, and spending as much time as we wanted! She is passionate about her country and sharing it with others.
