Fright night theming excellent, queue times, not so excellent.
Terrible experience…new RAP means 75 minutes between rides and system needs connecting to WiFi which my autistic daughter struggled to do….uh helpful staff throughout our stay….we have been coming here for 4 years but will never come back again!
Thorpe park was a fun day out but the costs mount up rapidly. The queues were hours long in places so buying fast passes seems a good idea until the fast pass line is over 30muns long too. Watch out for the parking costs - if you’re not there for a full day, it’s cheaper to buy on the gate as you exit than via the app
Disappointing experience with accessibility and customer service I am extremely disappointed with Thorpe Park’s handling of an accessibility issue affecting my legally blind sister. My sister uses a white cane and relies on Apple’s VoiceOver screen reader, but it does not work adequately with the Merlin Ride Access Pass app. Despite repeatedly trying to book her pass herself, she was unable to complete the process and became understandably distressed. I contacted Thorpe Park several times to try to resolve the issue. Initially, I was given a telephone number for LEGOLAND, which did not resolve anything. I subsequently spoke to Nial, who I understand was new to the role. I want to acknowledge that he genuinely tried his best with the information available to him and attempted to help us secure a place. Unfortunately, availability had gone by the time he called back. I then spoke to a manager, who suggested I could have booked the pass on my sister’s behalf and explained that Fast Track was different. She also mentioned that a paper-based option is available in certain circumstances, which raises the question of why an alternative was not considered for someone who cannot use the app because of her disability. My sister wants to be as independent as possible, and I am not always available to complete bookings for her. Expecting disabled visitors to rely on other people because an app is inaccessible is not a satisfactory solution. We had already booked our tickets and confirmed arrangements with her carer. These visits take time and planning, including coordinating care and transport. We cannot simply change dates without potentially losing money on arrangements already made. We are now facing the possibility of spending an additional £390 on two Fast Track passes at £195 each to try to make the visit accessible and avoid further disappointment. We have not purchased them, but it is extremely frustrating to be considering this extra expense because the original booking process was inaccessible. This is not about skipping queues or seeking special treatment. My sister is legally blind, uses a white cane and needs to navigate the park and ride queues safely. It is about accessibility, dignity and allowing her to enjoy a day out with her carer. I appreciate Nial’s efforts, but overall I am disappointed that repeated attempts to obtain assistance have not resulted in an effective solution. A refund or the suggestion of another date does not adequately address the practical and financial consequences of this situation. I hope Thorpe Park takes this seriously, reviews the accessibility of its app and provides an effective alternative booking method for visually impaired visitors. Disabled people should not be left feeling excluded or facing additional costs because the systems intended to help them are inaccessible.
Very disappointing, not good value for money. They over booked for the day. Over an hour just to get into the place. Spent around £400 for day, queue at 1 ride 2hr45m! Only managed to get on four rides all day!!! Paid extra to stay until 9pm no one checked tickets wish I hadn’t paid the extra as didn’t seem there was a need to. Exiting car park at end of day was a complete disorganised mess over an hour to get out, paid £13 for the privilege and got to gate to find they were just letting everyone out. What a waste of money. It was an 18th birthday so was very disappointed. When I went to customer service to see what they could offer, I was told sorry we are busy 17,000 people here, nothing we can do for you! Seems common sense would dictate don’t over sell tickets on the day and provide a limited service at a premium price?!
We went on a Saturday Fright Night, and the park was very busy. Starting with the positives, the park was clean, the food was pretty reasonable (in price and quality) for this sort of thing and the kids had a good day out and managed to get on about 5 rides. But, the park was much to crowded, and we basically paid for a day of queuing. ~1hr to get in through the scanners, at least 1hr for each of the rides, most were 80mins and Nemesis ended up being 2h30, 1hr in the car park to actually get out at the end of the day. In total 8+hrs queueing for roughly 7 mins of action.
As expected queue times were long. Unfortunately a family in front of us with older children were smoking & being loudly sexist & aggressive towards female staff. Also one older child bumped into my child then chose to ruin his game. Staff seemed to handle it well. However need more security staff to prevent these things & help families enjoy their day out.
I arrived at the park before 10 am on a Sunday Fright Night. Security was stopping guests when the metal detector was set off. I put my phone and wallet in my bag and had no issues. There were lots of guests waiting for the gates to open. I managed to ride Hyperia, Saw, Stealth, Nemesis Inferno and Swarm before 1pm which was great but then I noticed the ride times started to increase to more than 50 minutes. I used the single rider queue when available. When I left the park at 6 pm ride times were over 100 minutes and the park was more crowded. I'm glad I visited early!
Very good on saw because we queued single rider but let us sit together so w staff.
Going well. Rides are great and feel safe But Long queues (wish we'd taken up emailed offers to buy queue jumping options but I was too busy) And Just paid for fast track hyperia and no one checked whether we've joined the right queue yet (there was fast track, some other thing, and single rider...). They all seem to be moving same pace. Would have been nice to have an idea of how long this queue would take as it might have influenced our decision to buy the fast track... Though I suspect it'll still be less than the current 100-120 minutes in the normal queue.
