We beginnen onze reis in Tasciaca, gedateerd rond het jaar 0. Deze gallo-romeinse stad stond bekend om zijn kleipotten en containers. 2000 jaar werd al wijn gemaakt en verkocht. Je gids vertelt je ter plaatse het verhaal van Tasciaca
Op deze plaats werden de kalksteenblokken gewonnen en gebruikt voor de bouw van kathedralen en kastelen in de hele Loire-vallei.
In Montrichard zie je hoe een middeleeuws stadje eruit zou zien. Je gids vertelt je verschillende gepassioneerde verhalen over de betekenis van deze plaatsen. Je leert het verschil tussen kastelen in middeleeuwse en renaissancestijl.
Na onze fietstocht langs de rivier en door het bos komen we aan bij een prachtig renaissancekasteel. Geniet van een heerlijke picknicklunch met de beste lokale gerechten uit de Cher-vallei recht tegenover dit indrukwekkende zicht! Zou jij dromen van een beter zicht? Je kunt langs de rivier lopen om Chenonceau en zijn sierlijke bogen te bewonderen.

- Het bezoek aan de binnenkant van het kasteel is niet inbegrepen. Het zou nog 2 uur duren. Je hebt de mogelijkheid om het aan het einde van de tour op eigen gelegenheid te bezoeken, zodra we onze fietsen hebben teruggebracht. Tickets worden verkocht bij de noordelijke ingang van Chenonceau of online.
- De picknick wordt geserveerd op de zuidelijke oever van de rivier, bij het bos, tegenover het karakteristieke renaissancekasteel. Vanaf deze kant is het niet mogelijk om naar binnen te gaan. De openbare ingang en het ticketkantoor bevinden zich aan de andere kant van de rivier de Cher.

Clement Rubio, our expert guide was fantastic. He planned a wonderful 20 mile trip for us, a peaceful & special spot for our yummy picnic in the shadow of Chateau Chenonceau. I am a 68 yr old woman, a little skittish about biking but found the bike easy to maneuver. I never could’ve done it on a regular bike! So I highly recommend this tour with Clement, our new friend!

Our e-bike tour with Clement was the highlight of our week in Amboise! What better way to get to experience the Loire Valley then riding along the beautiful Cher River enjoying the beautiful, peaceful landscape?! We stopped by an ancient cave home along the way. So interesting! And the highlight of the ride is the delicious picnic lunch Clement prepared for us with Chenonceaux as our backdrop! Pure perfection!! Local cheese, pork spread, wine and of course bread! We enjoyed listening to Clement’s explanation of the history of the region as well as engaging with the other guests on the tour. I highly recommend this tour!
We had a great day with Clemon, the tour was unique including history of the area and the Chateau with a visit to his friends home showing off the caves people lived in until just after WW2. The picnic was local produce and delicious. It was not rushed and he was very generous with his time. Clemon is very personable and helpful we highly recommend this tour.

This tour with Clement has been one of the highlights of our two week trip to France! It was so much more than a bike tour. From the moment my sister and I met Clement, we were immersed in the culture and history of the Loire Valley. It was so interesting to learn about one of the oldest inhabited places including the way people lived over the years, from palaces to troglodytes. The bike ride was lovely and lunch, with the chateau as a backdrop, has been one of my favorite meals in France. The AOP selection of wines and cheeses from the region were absolutely delicious. If you are in the Loire Valley, make sure to add this tour to your itinerary! It won’t disappoint!
Wonderful day experienced with captivating guide Clement. Learned a lot about history. Stop at Jean Pierre with private museum/legacy house in the rocks. Very tasty lunch with local products. Absolutely recommended.
