Begin uw dag met een bezoek aan de Tafelberg. Maak een 5 minuten durende roterende kabelbaanrit naar de top, geniet van een panoramisch uitzicht, verken drie schilderachtige paden en ontspan in het café op de bergtop. Ga daarna naar de Nelson Mandela Gateway bij het V&A Waterfront voor uw vooraf geboekte veerboot naar Robbeneiland. Bij aankomst wandelt u langs historische gevangenisgebouwen voordat u aan boord stapt van een bus voor een rondleiding door officiële Robbeneilandgidsen. Uw Tafelbergavontuur begint bij het Lower Cableway Station, waar u in een korte rij voor de draaiende kabelbaan staat. In slechts 5 minuten stijgt de kabelbaan naar de top en biedt een ongelooflijk 360° uitzicht tijdens de rit. Op de top heb je de tijd om de platte berg te verkennen, met een adembenemend uitzicht op Kaapstad, Robbeneiland, de Twaalf Apostelen en zelfs Cape Point op een heldere dag. Er zijn drie goed gemarkeerde wandelpaden aan de top, geschikt voor verschillende fitnessniveaus en interesses : • Dassie Walk – Een zachte wandeling met uitstekende uitzichtpunten. • Agnas Path – Een iets langere route met een prachtig uitzicht over de stad. • Klantzkloof Trail – Voor de meer avontuurlijke, die leidt naar de achterkant van de berg. U kunt ook ontspannen in het café op de bergtop, waar vers voedsel, koffie, wijn en lichte snacks worden geserveerd - perfect om te genieten van een maaltijd met uitzicht.
Begin uw reis naar een van de meest iconische erfgoedlocaties van Zuid-Afrika bij de Nelson Mandela Gateway aan het V&A Waterfront, waar u aan boord gaat van een veerboot naar Robbeneiland. De boottocht biedt een prachtig uitzicht op de Tafelbaai en Kaapstad. Na het ontschepen in Murray's Bay Harbour, maak je een korte wandeling langs historische gebouwen en een hoge muur gebouwd door gevangenen in de jaren 1960. Vervolgens stap je in een bus voor een rondleiding over het eiland, onder leiding van deskundige Robbeneiland-gidsen. Deze diep ontroerende tour omvat belangrijke sites zoals het leprakerkhof, kalk- en hardsteengroeven, het huis van Robert Sobukwe, militaire bunkers en de beruchte Maximum-Security Prison. Did the full day with Robben Island first. The guide’s personal stories about the prison and the quarry really stayed with me. Then heading up Table Mountain later felt like a beautiful balance. We started with Robben Island in the morning and I’m still thinking about it. We did the Robben Island and Table Mountain combo and it was honestly one of the most memorable days of our trip. Morning pickup from the Radisson RED and straight into an intense but amazing Robben Island tour. The ex-prisoner guide had us laughing one minute and completely silent the next while walking through the prison blocks. Then in the afternoon we headed to Table Mountain. Standing on that massive flat summit with the wind blowing and views in every direction after the morning’s reality check felt surreal.
