Sunrise My Son Sanctuary privérondleiding

This was a highlight of our trip. It was worth getting up early for this tour. We were the first people into the ruins on the day and we beat the heat. Quy (We) our guide was very knowledgeable about the ruins and history, but also answered all our other questions about Vietnam. This tour is highly recommended.

I was the first person to visit and it was well worth leaving the hotel at 5am. Patrick was well informed and communicated to the important points of the site well.

You have to go at this time for the best experience! We were there right at opening and got to see My Son Sanctuary without it being overrun by tourists. The guide was also very nice and informative, and took some great pictures!

Very friendly guide who made sure we got to see the site early before everyone else. Great to see the forest, lotus ponds, butterflies & birds as well.

We booked a private sunrise tour of My Son for our family of 3. The company was OTC. Pickup from our accommodation was at 5am, and our guide Quy (pronounced We) was waiting with his driver when we arrived at reception. We booked a 7 seater 4WD to give us plenty of room. Quy was fantastic - he spoke very good english, was very knowledgeable, and was happy to answer our questions. We arrived at My Son around 6am (after sun up), but we were the first tourists on site, and with a brilliant blue sky, early morning sun coming up over the surrounding hills, and the green surrounding forest, the colours of the valley were stunning, not to mention the colour of the temples themselves. Being mid July, it was starting to get hot as we departed My Son around 8am, and we were back at our accommodation in Hoi An in time for breakfast at 9am. We highly recommend the sunrise tour of My Son.

My Son is an absolute must do experience ! It is surreal in its beauty and endlessly fascinating . We were extremely fortunate to be there at sunrise when there was absolutely no one else there, giving us the time and space to absorb it. Despite its violent history it is a very peaceful place . Apart from birdsong and the sound of running water there is a profound silence which pervades every corner. Our guide Mr Quan was extremely knowledgeable about the history and philosophy surrounding the site and was willing to share his own story with us as well . This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday in this beautiful country. We loved it .

Christine at Oriental Colours organised this tour for us and her suggestions and organisation was first class. My wife and I were picked up at our accommodation in Hoi An at 5am and were driven to My Son in time for it opening for the day. Our guide. Tomie (I hope the spelling is correct), was excellent being most informative and considerate during the course of the whole time we spent together. The driver, Dat ( Ihope I have his name correctly and spelt it properly), drove well with patience in the sometimes hectic traffic on the way back. My Son is well worth a visit as although not on the same scale as Angkor Wat is still very impressive with it's unique features. Tomie explained the types of building and their uses very clearly as well as the construction features some of which we don't fully understand today despite our self belief in our technological prowess. A really good tour thanks to Oriental Colours and our guide and driver.

I booked the sunrise visit and wasn't disappointed. Being the only person on the tour meant I got to hear in detail about the site, its religious significance and the impact of its destruction during the war. There were only about 5-6 other people there at 6.30am which meant for a wonderful stillness and no photobombing on a glorious morning! I'd definately recommend an early start for this site, as when we were leaving large tour groups were starting to roll in. The tour guide was 5 star, and the stop on the way back to Hoi An for traditional Pho at a local cafe was a highlight!!
