Really fun experience Hai was a great guide. The boat trip was a lot of fun and we loved the cooking class. Food was delicious and Hai sent the recipes so we can recreate at home. Recommend highly.
we had a fun day but also learnt a lot and the food we cooked was delicious. would recommend. we had two 21 year old and a 16 yr we all enjoyed it. we were also given the recipes to try at home. great value for money
Hihi was a lot of fun and and very informative about everything. The dishes he taught us how to cook were also amazing and things that could be made at home. Really loved it
Providing review as asked to write one by guide. Everything was absolutely excellent on the tour very very happy and good value for money Money the food was exceptional.
Cooking class was great & food very yummy. Basket boat trip was lots of fun! Trip to markets probably not necessary & we spent a significant amount of unnecessary time in the mini bus travelling back & forward with no explanation. Overall, would recommend this tour - a great family experience.
This was a truly special and enjoyable experience from start to finish. We began by visiting the local market, where we discovered a variety of foods and ingredients unique to the local community. Next, we enjoyed a relaxing ride through the canals of Hoi An in a traditional coconut boat. Finally, we headed to the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class, where our guide patiently demonstrated each step as we prepared four different Vietnamese dishes. Every dish was absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to recreate them and use the cooking skills I learned when I get back home.
We had a great time, checking out the market, the boats and cooking! Great host!
Hi Hi was friendly and our cooking class was great. So much food!!!!
A really fun experience, primarily the cooking class part of the tour. The market tour is probably of little value if you're a walkabout type who's already visited SE Asia markets yourself (i.e. you'll have mostly already seen the kinds of things the guide will show you, although it's definitely nice to be able to grab a fresh cane juice before setting off for the boats). The boat part is not for everyone - it's VERY busy (we were there around 3pm) and you'll see a veritable flock of folks trying to get their perfect Tiktok / Insta posts made whilst ignoring the experiences itself and the poor old person paddling them along. Our captain was in her fifties but her MUM was paddling the boat alongside us! The whole thing is very commercially driven and chaotic and feels a bit fake / exploitative - you'll be whisked into a section where boatspinners will wow you with the speed they can rotate their craft and you'll get a chance to hop onto their boat and be whizzed around (for a tip). Same goes for a performative fisherman you will see net-casting, you can also have a go (for a tip) and there's a bunch of singers doing various styles of music where you can have a go (for a tip). The experience is pretty full on, we must have seen several hundred boats in our short trip, and although it's fun in some ways you need to forget any ideas you may have about a calm or idyllic glide around the coconut trees. The cooking class however was great fun. Our chef guide was Khang, or K, and he was excellent. A fun sense of humour, informative as we went along, and engaging throughout. We made four dishes, all of which were very tasty and the team made sure to send us the recipes by WhatsApp before we left the restaurant. I can thoroughly recommend the cooking section of the day - you can grab cold drinks here too and there's a very nice clean bathroom and sink area for washing hands etc. The whole team are really friendly and helpful and I have no hesitation in giving them a perfect rating. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel in Hoi An as part of the booking, around 10 mins each way and the whole experience took around 4 hours. Bring sunblock for the boats!
Hai was an incredible guide and lead an excellent afternoon. Taking us to the local market where we bought the produce. The coconut boats were scenic and fun. The cooking class was outstanding with beautiful recipes that we can take home. Leaving very happy with full bellies:)
