Je kunt natuurlijk op eigen gelegenheid lopen, maar wat je gaat zien zijn gewoon nietszeggende gebouwen. Wat we je gaan meegeven is de lokale blik en door je uitleg te geven over de monumenten is het alsof we je inwijden in een wandeling in het verleden!

Onze ervaren escort neemt u mee op een wandeling door de tijd. We lopen met je mee in het Venetiaanse kasteel en laten je de hoogtepunten van het kasteel zien, zoals het Ursulinen-nonnenschoolterras om te genieten van het meest prachtige uitzicht op de stad Naxos, de katholieke kathedraal, de Barozzi-toren, de zuid-, oost- en noordpoort van het kasteel. Nadat we in de Naxische middeleeuwse sfeer zijn geweest, lopen we over het oude marktplein, gaan we naar de orthodoxe kathedraal en het kathedraalmuseum waar je ruïnes uit het Myceense tijdperk zult zien en voordat we naar Portara gaan, stoppen we om een slokje Citron te nemen Likeur, een BOB-product van Naxos. Laatste stop, de indrukwekkende Portara waar u na de gedetailleerde uitleg over het monument kunt genieten van een prachtige zonsondergang!

It was great! Loved being able to walk around, see the sights, and hear some historical facts. It was the perfect length and distance as well. I highly recommend it. Great for kids too.

We met at the local Market and the tour guide couldn't have been any better. She was sweet, kind, patient and very informative. We were brought throughout the castle, town and port. The sunset at the temple of Apollo was breathtaking. Overall, the tour was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend.

Moderate amount of walking with lots of uneven surfaces, but still a terrific tour. Our guide, Vasiliki/Vikki, was very well versed in the history and had a passion for telling us about it.

Beautiful tour of old Naxos - stunning views. The only drawback was missing the sunset at the Portara which was the intent of the described tour. The guide gave us a long Greek mythology explanation which I think should’ve been done at the top rather than at the bottom of the hill. The timing was poor.
