Karon Viewpoint is een van de meest bezochte gezichtspunten in Phuket. Vanaf hier is het mogelijk om uitzicht te bieden op de stranden van Kata Noi, Kata Yai en Karon.
Vanuit het gezichtspunt van de windmolen, onder de zwiepende rotorbladen die elektriciteit opwekken voor het gebied (de officiële naam is het 'Phromthep Alternative Energy Station'), kun je het passerende zeeverkeer zien, van langstaartboten met hun lang omgebouwde vrachtwagenmotoren, tot vissersboten die op weg zijn naar de Andaman, naar olietankers en zelfs grote cruiseschepen die uit en terug naar Singapore komen. Vliegende dingen Windmill Viewpoint is ook een ontmoetingsplaats voor liefhebbers van modelvliegtuigen en deltavliegers die de tropische thermiek rijden en uiteindelijk op een sierlijke landing aan Nai Harn Beach terechtkomen. Ver boven en soms parallel met de heuvel glijden Brahminy-vliegers en zeearenden elegant voorbij. Je zou kunnen denken dat met al deze activiteiten in de lucht Windmill Viewpoint een drukke plek is: het is allesbehalve, omdat er maar heel weinig parkeerruimte is. Toch is het niet alleen een premium uitzichtspunt voor zonsondergangen; het is ook een aantrekkelijke plaats gedurende de hele dag met de zee, vooral 's middags azuurblauw.
Promthep Cape is een van de meest gefotografeerde en misschien wel het meest bekende locaties van het eiland. Elke avond rijden grote tourbussen, scooters en privé-auto's door Rawai Beach en de zuidelijkste heuvel van het eiland om de zonsondergang op zijn hoogtepunt te bekijken. Op de top van de heuvel staat een drukke parkeerplaats waar voertuigen massa's mensen uit alle hoeken van de wereld vermurwen.
(heropen vanaf maart 2026) Phuket's Big Buddha is een van de belangrijkste en meest vereerde bezienswaardigheden op het eiland. Het enorme beeld staat op de top van de Nakkerd Hills tussen Chalong en Kata en is met zijn 45 meter hoog te zien van zo ver als Phuket Town en Karon Beach. De hoge site biedt de beste 360 - graden uitzicht op het eiland, met een prachtig uitzicht op Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Chalong Bay en nog veel meer. Relatief gemakkelijk bereikbaar via een kronkelende 6 - km weg die leidt van Phuket's belangrijkste verkeersader route, het is een must-visit eiland bestemming.
Wats - of boeddhistische tempels - behoren tot de belangrijkste symbolen van Thailand, deels omdat de meerderheid van de Thais boeddhist is en deels omdat ze zo mooi zijn. Alleen al in Phuket zijn er 29 boeddhistische tempels verspreid over het eiland. Wat Chalong heet bezoekers al meer dan een eeuw warm welkom. Locals komen om te bidden en westerlingen komen iets leren over het boeddhisme.
In tegenstelling tot veel Thaise provinciale hoofdsteden, schijnt Phuket Town redelijk met persoonlijkheid en nergens meer dan zijn oude binnenstad. In dit historisch rijke deel van de stad vind je heiligdommen, tempels (boeddhistisch en Chinees), sierlijke en prachtig bewaard gebleven 'winkelhuizen', leuke cafés, kleine drukkerijen, geïmproviseerde particuliere en openbare musea en zelfs een mini-ex-rosse buurt. Phuket Old Town werd gebouwd op de rijkdommen die werden geplukt uit Phuket's tin-boom van de vorige eeuw, toen het metaal een uiterst waardevolle grondstof was. In deze wijk van de stad zie je grandioze sino-koloniale herenhuizen, ooit bewoond door Phuket's blikbaronnen van 100 jaar geleden. Phuket Old Town is compact genoeg om in rond te wandelen. De beste tijd om dit te doen is vroeg in de ochtend of nadat de dag zijn hitte heeft verloren.
Khao Rang Hill is een van de meest beroemde uitkijkpunten van Phuket. Gelegen ten noordwesten van het stadscentrum, biedt de top uitzicht over de stad, naar het zuiden van het eiland, de naburige eilanden en langs de heuvels die de 'ruggengraat' vormen van het eiland, waarop de indrukwekkende Grote Boeddha van Phuket ligt. Het heeft een mooi aangelegd park met een kinderspeelplaats, drie restaurants en bars, een fitnesspark en een panoramisch terras - gebouwd in 2014 - waardoor het uitzichtspunt van de top van Khao Rang officieel is. De plek is aantrekkelijk en biedt haar bezoekers een verademing in de hoofdstad van het eiland Phuket.
De Banzaan-markt is het geesteskind van een bekende familie in Phuket die het winkelende publiek een andere ervaring wilde bieden dan het bezoeken van een typische lokale markt. Het woord 'banzaan' betekent verse markt in Hokkien, een Chinees dialect dat populair is bij veel overzeese Chinese gemeenschappen in Zuidoost-Azië.

We did a city tour in Phuket City today and overall the experience was underwhelming. The guide mainly drove us from place to place and only spoke when we asked direct questions. We expected a more informative, engaging, and lively tour, especially given this was a guided experience. At the end of the tour, we asked to be taken to a massage place and were brought to Mookda Spa, which felt like a tourist trap and not something we would recommend. It gave the impression that the stop may have been commission-based rather than chosen for quality or value. Overall, the tour did not meet our expectations.

This was a nice tour, hit all the stops on the itinerary except the Bazaar. We didn’t get so much history about Phuket. We were the only ones on the tour which was a little od. Halfway through the guide picked up his wife who couldn’t speak English. Once he picked her up - he stayed sleeping in the car while she took us around. When it was lunch, we offered to pay for (and did) their lunch and he still asked for a tip at the end.
It was just the 2 of us on this tour, but wongsak boonkong our tour guide was excellent, he took us to all of the attractions as stated on Tripadvisor! Being a local his knowledge of the area was exceptional, also because it was just the two of us, we asked him to join us for lunch which was very special. Highly recommended and 🙏🙏 Soon!

No-one showed up to take me on the tour. They told me that they were 20 minutes late and that I wasn’t there. I waited almost an hour but they were a no show and they did not answer their phone the day before so that I could confirm pick up or the day of the tour. We tried to contact them at least 6 times.
Dear Lynette Bishop, You put Australian phone number in your booking and we tried to contact with you by WhatsApp and have sent you messages, but didn’t get a respond. Also we have sent all pick up details trough Viator chat. The driver with a guide was late for 20 min and we informed about that when hotel staff called to us, but when guide come to you hotel they didn’t find you there. Anyway, we had issued a full refund for this booking. We are sorry that this experience was unsuccessful and wish you only successful experiences in the future.
Lots of seeing and doing. Very extensive and for that money you really can't complain. Seen monkeys and can pet elephant. Only not nice that we are the only Dutchman in a full bus with Russians and therefore got no explanation. Also very strange that you don't get lunch when it ends around 3:30 pm

Was an amazing tour apart from stopping to feed the baby elephant that was in a really small cage. We didn't know this was part of the tour. If we were aware of this, would never have booked this tour. Also, the tour is advertised as English Speaking tour guide but our tour was 95% in Russian which neither myself nor my partner speak or understand. This tour should be advertised as Russian Speaking and not English Speaking! The tour guide gave us a very brief description at the first couple of stops, but after that it was just to tell us how long we have at the stop!

We booked through trip advisor using reviews which we thought sounded better than those you can book in patong town. Once all 4 other pick ups were completed in the morning, we soon found we were the only British ones on the tour, everyone else was Russian including the tour guide. Despite this, we were ensured that we would still be included by the tour guide providing the information first to us then in Russian. On multiple occasions, we were bypassed and not spoken to by the guide therefore missing parts. Most of the trip, the tour guide was more interested in his own personal phone than the job he was being paid for! The very worst part of this is experience was the surprise we were told about half way through.. we stopped at a side road to ‘feed and meet Bella’. Bella was an alone elephant cornered into a tiny enclosure marked off with scaffold poles, commanded to complete the same 4 poses for the tourist paying 100baht for a bowl of food. THIS WAS NOT WHAT WE BOOKED OR SPECIFIED ON TRIP ADVISOR BOOKING INFORMATION. We are not tourist who exploit such beautiful creatures so we were beyond furious. Secondly, the tour felt very rushed. No lunch was included which we understood but we were given no time to find anything to eat despite it being an all day trip. We therefore wasted our time at Phuket old town finding a quite bite to eat, meaning we saw little of the famous walking street at all. As previously stated, this was meant to be an all day trip yet we were back by 3pm at the latest, with the tour guide being home at 2 as he was dropped off before we were even back in patong! (Perhaps that’s not part of his job but we haven’t had that on the other trips!) Combining the parts of the trips which were not included in the booking information along with the feeling we were just constantly getting in and out of the mini bus all day, I would not recommend with this company. However I would recommend the trip to big Buddha, Buddhist temple and the viewpoints

It is a half day tour. Visited Karon beach. Took pictures of Kata beach and View Point. Took pictures of rawai. Spectular views the beach are crystal clear. Went to Chalong Temple visited the Buda. Went to the nut factory. Also visited a gem factory and saw a video of how gems are made. Passed through phuket Town and saw the old town. It is a good trip to see lovely beachs

Tour was great, there were only 4 of us in total and they still went ahead with the day. Tour guide was very informative and took lots of photos for us. Good way to see lots of Phuket and main attractions.
