Deze activiteit begint op het ontmoetingspunt waar we de boot nemen om 4 uur lang onder water te vissen in de prachtige Caribische Zee, je wilt een speciaal avontuur beleven en je houdt van adrenaline, kom en geniet van de hand van 100% lokale vissers Gepassioneerd door vissen, zullen we je de beste visplekken leren om prooien te vangen volgens het visseizoen, tandbaars, barracuda, snapper, boquinete, kreeft en een andere soorten rif, ervaring is niet nodig, het belangrijkste is om te weten hoe je moet zwemmen en als u weet hoe u de snorkeluitrusting moet gebruiken, als u al een ervaren visser bent, vraag dan naar onze 8-uurs of diepzeepakketten om pelagische vis te vangen, afhankelijk van het seizoen, zeilvis, mahi mahi, wahoo, tonijn.

The excursion suggests that you can do this no matter your level of experience. I’m telling you right now if you have never gone spear fishing DO NOT book this. First off they took us to spots where the depth ranged in between 30-50 feet deep. Most people have no idea how hard that is for a beginner to dive down to those depths. Second they should suggest to bring your own gear cause the fins provided are absolutely trash. Will leave you with massive blisters and will have the tour guide yelling at you the whole time to keep up with him when the fins you are given are not built well. Thirdly the spots he took us too had absolutely horrible visibility except the second spot of the three. Why we left the second spot to go to the third is beyond me especially when we had fish to shoot there. To top all of this off the boat they took us out on was a total piece of junk that kept breaking down on us which cut our dive time short. The tour guild said “well these are foreseeable events that happen” when the boat wasn’t running from the second we left!!! These guys are absolutely just trying to maximize profits. Would avoid this experience ether way.

For this activity, conditions can vary from day to day, and we usually recommend trying it on a different day when conditions are more suitable, especially for beginners. We had an UNBELIEVABLE time learning to spearfish with Diego for my 40th birthday. He was there to greet us at the beach the second our taxi door opened. Spearfishing can be a dangerous sport, and he made sure everyone's safety was priority #1. He spent a a good amount of time going over breathing techniques for spearfishing, and discussing which fish we were allowed to catch. He was very passionate about fish and reef conservation. We spent about 3.5 hours snorkeling for fish. In the end, I didn't manage to get my spear on a fish, but he and my husband caught a HUGE barracuda together. Diego expertly filleted our catch while we drank some ice cold beers on the boat and he told us about a great restaurant within walking distance to take our catch to be cooked. I wouldn't hesitate to book another trip with Carey Tours and Diego for spearfishing! :) Thank you for a great birthday! I would like to note: Even though Diego is an excellent and patient instructor, I would not recommend this tour for novices to snorkeling. We are certified SCUBA divers and freediving 30 to 40 feet down to shoot at fish was still very intimidating. You need to know how to pressurize your ears and hold your breath properly otherwise you can end up very hurt.
It was awesome! But I will say I didn’t feel like Diego was making sure we took a shot He got four fish Thankfully I was needed for a kill shot on a barracuda , but truly it was lackluster on the basis that he didn’t prioritize my and my girls shooting My lady didn’t apparently know how to clear her snorkel, but that’s not his fault I also assumed she knew more. Four stars and will return but on the premise that regardless of who’s attention is where he makes sure we both shoot a fish, not himself.
hello my friend, we are sorry to hear about your experience spearfishing with us, our guide diego report to us that the reason why he decide to took the shoot on the fish is cause you verbalice to him that you had an issue with your ear as you couldn't equalize properly, our main goal as always is for you to have fun prioritizing on your safety on the water, that's why he took the decision to take the fish for you as you guys were on an area deep enough to cause injury on your ear if dove on it, we hope you enjoy eating your fresh fish and to hear from you again to make it up for this experience, have a good one, thanks.

Spear fishing in Tulum was awesome! Fernando really knows his stuff. We did that on Saturday of our trip and then we took a private tour of the cenote's with Jhony on Monday which was also awesome! I would definitely say you need a bit of experience diving for spearfishing but if you have the basics down you'll do great!
Took my 6 year old grandson out fishing with Fernando, Russo, and Captain William. We had pretty rough seas and the day started out a bit slow, but with hard work and an experienced crew we found the fish! We caught 2 barracuda, one easily over 48" and somewhere around 25-30 lbs. And 3 mahi mahi. The action was fast and furious and the fish were large enough to be a little intimidating to my grandson. He hung in there and managed to land two of the mahi, although on the first one a rogue wave hit the side of the boat and washed right over our heads!! Such a great adventure! We were laughi8ng and having a ball. Great, friendly, knowledgeable crew that never stopped working. Such a great trip! I would highly recommend.
Fer and his team were absolutely exceptional! He was easy to communicate with in advance and everything went so smoothly. We felt very safe out in the water and he was an incredible teacher. It is truly a special experience that I could not recommend more! Such a thoughtful and friendly crew!

The Carey tours group were all wonderful! They really give you the full experience. We got to dive and snorkel with sea turtles, fish, stingrays, and more! We even got to dive above a sunken ship. After our fishing adventures, the we made a delicious fresh ceviche for us as we relaxed on the boat near shore. Amazing experience
It was absolut awesome! Spearfishing with Diego was a truly unique experience. The sport itself is just so special and the way they teach you all the different techniques is just amazing. And at the end we could take the fish with us, gave it to our kitchen in the hotel and had an unforgettable lunch. I would do it again!

We had a wonderful time with this private tour. Diego and Fernando taught us the basics of spearfishing, made sure we were comfortable underwater and took us to the hot spots with lots of tropical fish so we can start shooting. Would highly recommend if you enjoy a more interactive excursion. Would love to do this again.
