Verander uw Southampton post cruise transfer in een kleine groep dagtocht en ervaar een wereld van prachtige dorpen, verborgen valleien en kronkelende beekjes in de Cotswold Hills. Geniet van een klassieke publunch in een oude Engelse taverne voordat u de iconische stad Oxford bezoekt voor een rondleiding door de geschiedenis en de academische wereld, met toegang tot de Divinity School. Deze service is beschikbaar op alle data wanneer Royal Caribbean, Oceanië, NCL, Celebrity, Princess & Disney cruiseschepen Southampton bezoeken. De service is ook beschikbaar voor passagiers op andere schepen als uw aankomstdata en aankomsttijden samenvallen met de vermelde schepen. Onze eerste stop is in het prachtige dorpje Bibury met zijn beroemde verzameling huizen die bekend staat als Arlington Row. Nadat u uw vriendelijke chauffeur en deskundige gids in Southampton hebt ontmoet, neemt u plaats in onze luxe touringcar terwijl we noordwaarts vertrekken naar de prachtige en geliefde regio Cotswold in Engeland, beroemd om zijn honingkleurige stenen dorpen en lommerrijke valleien. Uw lokale gids heeft een schat aan informatie over dit prachtige deel van de wereld. Leer over de wolhandel en hoe deze een belangrijke rol speelde in de vorming van de geschiedenis van het gebied, en hoor hoe de regio's achteruitgaan als een doekproducent de Cotswolds een slaperig backwater zag worden, bevroren in de tijd.
Vervolgens rijden we langs kronkelende steegjes en glooiende heuvels naar het mooie dorpje Burford, waar de oude stenen huisjes lijken te cascaderen naar beneden naar de rivier de Windrush. Na een begeleide wandeling door de stad om de oude kerk van St John de Doper te zien, gaan we een traditionele Cotswolds taverne binnen, gebouwd in 1402, voor een klassieke publunch.
Na onze lunch in Burford gaan we op weg naar de historische stad Oxford. Hier biedt uw Gids u een uur durende wandeltocht langs enkele van de beroemdste universiteitsgebouwen, kloosters en vierhoeken van de stad, inclusief toegang tot de Divinity School, de oudste originele speciaal gebouwde structuur van de universiteit. Je krijgt ook de kans om de Bodleian Library en Radcliffe Camera te zien. Na de tour geniet u van een uur vrije tijd om op uw eigen gemak te verkennen voordat u terugkeert naar de bus om de dag af te sluiten met een drop-off op het door u aangewezen adres in Londen of Heathrow.

We absolutely loved our small group tour of the Cotswolds and Oxford on our way to Heathrow from the cruise port in Southampton. The two Cotswolds towns we visited, Bibury and Burford, were both beautiful and very different The lunch at The Lamb Inn in Burford was delicious. After lunch we had about an hour of free time in Burford which was a perfect amount of time to shop and buy some goodies at the bakery. After that we headed to Oxford which was totally different, a very busy vibrant town. Our tour guide, Marek, made sure we saw a lot of the highlights in the two hours we were there. Marek was an excellent guide. He was as excited about telling us about the Cotswolds and Oxford and showing us them. I highly recommend this small group tour ( you can see so much more with a smaller group) and would highly recommend requesting Marek as your guide. You will really enjoy it and, especially, him!
This was a great tour. Mereck, our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and personable and the mini bus was one of the most comfortable I've ever travelled in. WE visited the Cotswolds and Oxford. I highly recommend this tour!

The Cotswalds were lovely and Nigel, our guide, was knowledgable. Our expereince in Oxford was less successful with no maps and lack of clarity on our plan.
Rob Russell's knowledge and expertise of history, geography, and his use of context in his narration were key to the enjoyment of this excursion. Not only that, his enthusiasm and effervescense were contagious. Learning about places I'd only read about and seen in picture books and videos brought the Cotswolds and Oxford to life. Rob was a great caretaker of our small group througout the tour. I am a return visitor who has used International Friends for tours in the UK and hope to do so again in the future!
Great tour from the port to the airport. Our guide Rob was very informative. We especially enjoyed visiting Oxford.
The experience was a pleasant surprise. Nigel, our guide, was quite informative about the Cotswolds and he added tidbits about our surroundings while traveling to the area of interest. Our tour ended at Oxford University where he added aspects of his own life growing up in Oxford.

Mark provided an excellent tour of The Cotswolds and Oxford. He was full of interesting information and when he found out I was a CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien fan he made sure I saw places and things related to the two. Highly recommend this tour. The Cotswolds are amazingly beautiful. The meal in Butford was delicious.
