I visited Khinaliq village with “Smile” tour agency and had a great experience. Everything was well organized and comfortable throughout the trip. The village itself is amazing with beautiful mountain views and a unique atmosphere. Special thanks to our tour guide, who was very young but did a great job—friendly, helpful, and professional. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We joined a Smile Tour recently and were disappointed by the experience. Communication was poor — at 7:50 I got a message to wait outside and van will come by 8:00 AM, but the ride didn’t arrive until after 8:40 AM and our messages went unanswered for a long time. Upon arrival, there was no guidance on where to go or which van to take. The tour guide was inattentive and seemed more focused on certain guests than the group. We were also asked to give up our seats and sit separately, which felt disrespectful. The group size exceeded the promised limit of 12 people. As a Baku resident who has taken many tours, I can say there are better, more reliable companies available. While the Khinalig village is worth visiting, I recommend choosing a different tour provider. Despite the name, Smile Tour gave us little to smile about.

The excursion with SAJ was overall a great experience. Our guide, Ahmed, was very kind and knowledgeable, and the driver was clearly experienced. That said, the high speed on the narrow uphill roads did feel a little unsafe. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Khinaliq, thanks to these two gentlemen. However, there were some issues with the morning pickup. The booking was made via TripAdvisor, where the tour time was clearly stated as 9:00 AM. On the morning of the trip, I discovered several unread notifications in the app saying pickup would be at 7:00 AM. Since I rarely check the TripAdvisor app except when booking, I wasn’t aware of the change. The staff also asked for my WhatsApp number but never provided theirs, so communication was difficult. I ended up rushing down at 8:28 AM, where I saw the van but was initially told it wasn’t the right one. Only after calling the SAT staff did they confirm it was indeed my vehicle. In short, the pickup communication and coordination were poorly managed and quite frustrating. I would strongly suggest the management improve their SOP to ensure smoother operations. Otherwise, guests should be prepared for unexpected surprises despite booking in good faith.

Great experience on the excursion to Xinaliq. Breathtaking scenery and we were given ample time to revel in the nature and click photos. The tour was well organized, the vehicle was excellent and our guide Sayeed was extremely informative about the details managing patrons from Turkiye, Russia and us (India). Highly recommended.
