De e-bike-ervaring in Civita genaamd "Castello nel Cielo" is uniek. Net buiten Orvieto passeer je het oude Badia en beklim je vervolgens het plateau dat van het oude Dimora di Collevento over Canale loopt en dan Boccetta naar Bagnoregio leidt, alleen begeleid door het geritsel van een briesje dat de lucht in alle seizoenen helder houdt. , schoon en fris. De beelden die kunnen worden gemaakt op deze plekken van grote schoonheid, waar de panorama's uitzicht bieden op wijngaarden, olijfbomen, weilanden en bossen zijn een lust voor het oog. Boerderijen en kelders ontmoeten elkaar onderweg waar u de echte typische producten van de plaats kunt kopen. De aankomst bij het uitkijkpunt Civita is onbeschrijfelijk, een blik die je buiten adem laat. Het bezoek aan het dorp, de reeks beroemde films, is een voortdurende emotie, met zijn bars, ambachtelijke winkels, parfums, essences ... We keren terug en stoppen bij het Belvedere van het Farnese Terras, vanwaar de Rupe di Orvieto in al zijn majesteit en elegantie kan worden bewonderd

Aankomst op het uitkijkpunt waar we de e-bikes parkeren. Adembenemend uitzicht vanaf waar mooie foto's te nemen. Steek de voetgangersbrug over om de oude Civita binnen te gaan, bezoek het dorp en snack met proeverijen van lokale producten en wijnen.
We stoppen in dit 13e-eeuwse kasteel, op de grens van de oude pauselijke staat, waarrond vele veldslagen werden uitgevochten om het grondgebied van Orvieto te verdedigen
Het mooiste uitzicht op Orvieto; vanaf hier kunt u de stad van haar meest fascinerende kant bewonderen, met tegelijkertijd de kathedraal en de kerken van San Giovanni, San Francesco en San Giovenale. Een uniek en buitengewoon uitzicht.

For context, we are a family of four, with kids aged 12 and 17, and we had an absolute blast! Our guide, Giorgio, was very nice and knowledgeable about the area and the places we visited. We rode through the fields down to Civita, where we had some time to walk around the town, and then headed back to Orvieto, where we enjoyed a tasty lunch and local wine at a restaurant near the cathedral. For those concerned about the physical demands, the e-bikes make the ride really easy. Even the most intimidating uphill sections feel like leisurely pedaling. Overall, we had an amazing time and cannot recommend this activity highly enough!
My bike ran out of battery power pn the return trip. The guide gave me his bike and he had to pedal unassisted the rest of the way back on the dead bike

Great day riding bikes through Umbria with Georgio and another couple. I was nervous about riding on roads with cars but found drivers to be very accommodating of us. Most often we had the roads to ourselves. Ride is doable for almost all fitness levels. Walk up the path to Civita difficult for those with mobility issues ( it is steep). Lunch in Orvieto was outstanding. Food was served family style and was very good. This was our favorite day of our whole trip!

I would not recommend this tour. We were traveling with two young girls, and the temperature was over 100°F that day, even the Italian Weather Service called it severe, making me feel it was unsafe for our family to participate in fear of heat stroke. We reached out to the tour guide multiple times via WhatsApp in the days leading up to the tour to ask questions and get guidance on transportation etc. but received no response. The only reply came the morning of the tour, which was far too late to be helpful. The lack of communication before the tour was extremely frustrating (there was none), and despite the circumstances, the company refused to provide any refund or accommodation. You trust when you book excursions that Viator and the operators are accommodating for various circumstances. Better communication and customer service would have made a big difference from both operator and Viator. I will also stop booking thru Viator as their customer service has been awful. I would highly recommend to all travelers to find the tour operators directly (they all seem to have their own apps and websites now). Not only are they cheaper but incredibly more accommodating and communication is fantastic. I used several in Rome this trip — Crown Tours and City Wonders. Both were awesome and the experience was top notch - especially when we need to make adjustments.
Sorry for your disappoint, but your cancellation came 2 hours an 10 minutes before the meeting time. We have to follow the Viator' s rules, and we try to be very close to our guest, but sometimes we can' t satisfy any request

This e- bike ride MORE than met expectations. The guide was FANTASTIC- knowledgeable, kind and well paced excursion. It was smoking hot out - but it didn’t matter - the views were breathtakingly beautiful and the ride was amazing. Excellent excellent tour and guide. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Fantastic experience! Beautiful views. We also enjoyed the historical information and discussion at every stop and the frequent espresso opportunities. Our family had a great time - would highly recommend!
