Doe mee met deze kleine groepsdagtour naar de Cotswolds vanuit Londen en verken de hoogtepunten van het prachtige Engelse platteland. Reis in een minibus in kleine, vriendelijke groepen terwijl uw chauffeur-gids de geschiedenis van de regio uitlegt en u de lokale verhalen vertelt. De dag begint met het verlaten van Londen en reizen naar het typisch Engelse platteland van The Cotswolds; een gebied dat beroemd is om zijn prachtige landschap, charmante dorpjes en honingkleurige stenen huisjes. Onze eerste stop is de traditionele stad Burford; bekend als de ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’. Dit is een historische plek waar veel huizen bijna 600 jaar oud zijn en er al eeuwen niets is veranderd. Tijdens het bezoek is er tijd om Burford te verkennen, de prachtige kerk te bezoeken en door de hoofdstraat te wandelen om een mix van onafhankelijke, door een familie gerunde winkels te bezoeken.
Het dorp Bibury wordt vaak beschreven als het 'mooiste dorp van Engeland'. De charmante scène is een momentopname van het traditionele Engelse plattelandsleven. Wandel langs de zachte rivier en zie de iconische Arlington Row; een set wevershuisjes die nu een van de symbolen van de Cotswolds zijn.
Onze lunchstop is de charmante nederzetting Bourton-on-the-Water. Door de ligging aan de rivier is de stad bekend geworden als het 'Venetië van de Cotswolds'.
We gaan door het platteland naar Stow-on-the-Wold, de hoogstgelegen stad in de Cotswolds, een wirwar van oude herbergen en antiekwinkels rondom het bruisende marktplein. Deze historische stad was een inspiratiebron voor JRR Tolkien en is ook de plaats waar de laatste slag van de Engelse Burgeroorlog plaatsvond in 1646.

Great experience with our fabulous guide, Sean! He gave us the right amount of information about the various villages and what was special about each. Comfortable transportation and beautiful views, as well as many suggestions of a variety of ways to spend our on own time at each destination. Sean was kind, knowledgeable, and authentic, with a great sense of humor!
Nigel was a great driver and tour guide! He showed us all the spots, explained all the things, and gave lots of recommendations for things to do or places to eat at each stop. I especially loved the bonus stop at the end of the King’s Men Stone Circle.
Traveling to London often on business I always enjoy visiting England outside the city. The Premium Tour led by Eva and driver Christian provided an excellent experience and increased my appreciation for the UK. Eva's ongoing informative and entertaining narrative made the drive time pass quickly. Christian is an expert driver. The Cottswolds' rolling hills and cream colored stone villages are beautiful. A lucrative wool industry paid for the beautiful stone work. The Roman "straght as an arrow" road is drastically different from medieval meandering countryside roads that follow the terrain. This was a tourist day well spent.
