Sloth's Territory is een privéreservaat in El Tanque, op minder dan 10 minuten van het centrum van La Fortuna (vulkaan Arenal). De plaats, beheerd door de familie Rodriguez Perez, is een echt juweeltje met een levendige flora en fauna. De observatiewandeling, een echt raadselachtige ervaring, wordt ontwikkeld via een veilig pad. dit pad loopt door het reservaat langs de La Havana-rivier en biedt de mogelijkheid om veel soorten dieren in zijn natuurlijke habitat te observeren. Twee- en drievingerige luiaards, opossums, rode kikkers, stekelvarkens, verschillende soorten vogels zoals; Toekans, tanagers, koninklijke vliegenvangers, kolibries, papegaaien, honingkruipers, kaneelspechten, verrijken de activiteit. Onze deskundige gids zal u zorgvuldig al onze verschillende attracties laten zien en zal u een unieke levenslange ervaring bezorgen. De tour is inclusief een getrainde gids tijdens de hele wandeling met professionele telescoop en het eindigt met een pauze om te genieten van ons meer geselecteerde seizoensfruit (de meeste van ons biologische veld).

Voor onze nachtwandeling die om 18.00 uur begint, is het de beste tijd om dieren met nachtelijk gedrag te zoeken. Tijdens deze wandeling krijg je de kans om verschillende soorten kikkers, kinkajous, slangen, spinnen, vleermuizen en uiteindelijk: twee- en drievingerige luiaards te zien (maar dat is niet de focus van deze specifieke wandeling). Terwijl de nacht begint en de hemel vol sterren wordt, zal onze goed opgeleide gids je veilig houden terwijl je de wandeling door ons eigendom voortzet. Het parcours is toegankelijk voor alle leeftijden, dus dit is een activiteit waar het hele gezin van kan genieten. De duur van deze activiteit is anderhalf tot 2 uur. De tour is inclusief een getrainde gids tijdens de hele wandeling, met professionele uitrusting, een zaklamp voor elke deelnemer en we eindigen ook met een pauze om te genieten van vers seizoensfruit. Our trip was absolutely amazing and it was all because of our guide Jason. He did such an amazing job and took his time with us showing as many animals as possible. Even got to see a glass frog and monkeys along with all the sloths, and two had babies with them. Incredible and memorable. So glad we decided to go with this tour instead of the many others to choose from. Go here if you’re looking, it does not disappoint.

Great tour, very educational and saw close to 10 sloths and poison dart frogs (too many to count). Ivan, our guide, was awesome and very informed - he studied eco-tourism in school and it shows.
Sloth's Territory was an amazing experience! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, making sure we didn't miss a single detail. We saw so many sloths, and he pointed out all kinds of other wildlife that we would have completely overlooked on our own. His passion for nature made the tour both fun and educational. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Arenal area!
We saw 6 sloths! Throughout the tour we saw sloths, monkeys, birds, frogs, etc. Ruben was our guide and he friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The tour was a group of 9 and we all had plenty of time to look through the scope and get pictures. The tour is on reforested land which is great too. We really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to anyone interested in going on a tour.
Sloth’s Territory is located a bit outside of La Fortuna, but it is definitely worth it. Our guide Edson was great and his photos and videos, which he took for us through the telescope, turned out incredibly beautiful. We learned a lot of interesting facts and saw many animals. In addition to both sloth species, also frogs, howler monkeys, and birds. We were even able to watch a keel-billed toucan (that was our daughter's big wish) eating. Thanks again to Edson for the entertaining tour.
We saw at least 5 clothes, leaf cutting ants and lots of poison dart frogs. Quite a trip. Too bad it started raining in middle of our trek so we ended up have a hurry. Binocular does not work too well in rain. Would still highly recommend this tour. Without a guide you will be lost where to see slothes. They are so camouflaged and well hidden.
Our Sloth Territory tour was an absolutely amazing experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica! We saw an incredible variety of wildlife, including several sloths—one of the most memorable moments was spotting a mother sloth with her baby nestled on her belly. It was truly a National Geographic-worthy sight and something our family will never forget. We also had the opportunity to observe a toucan up close and capture amazing photos and videos. There is no way we would have spotted many of these animals on our own. The high-powered telescopes used by the guides made all the difference and allowed us to see details we never would have noticed otherwise. Our guide, Jason, was outstanding. His knowledge of Costa Rica's ecology, wildlife, plants, and culture added so much depth to the experience. He was passionate, engaging, and eager to answer questions, making the tour both educational and entertaining. If you're visiting the La Fortuna area, this tour is a must-do. The combination of incredible wildlife sightings, expert guiding, and a deeper appreciation for Costa Rica's unique ecosystem made this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!
Great experience. Ivania did everything to have the best pictures of the sloths. She is very knowledgeable. We also viewed frogs, birds.... The tour took 2 hours in total and ended with very refreshing watermelon.
