Gelegen in het hart van de Paarl Valley, Fairview staat bekend om zijn award winnende wijnen, ambachtelijke kazen, en warme gastvrijheid. De boerderij heeft een rijke geschiedenis die teruggaat tot de late 17e eeuw, toen de boerderij werd verleend aan de eerste kolonist, een Franse Hugenoot genaamd Charles Back. Oorspronkelijk bekend als Bloemkoolfontein, werd de boerderij later omgedoopt tot Fairview vanwege het prachtige uitzicht en het omliggende landschap. Tegenwoordig is de boerderij nog steeds eigendom van de familie Back. Als u het landgoed betreedt, wordt u begroet door een prachtig uitzicht op de wijngaard en de charmante Kaapse Nederlandse architectuur die de regio kenmerkt. Gasten kunnen ook genieten van een kaaspaarervaring, waarbij de heerlijke kazen van het landgoed vakkundig worden gecombineerd met de perfecte wijn om de smaken van beide te versterken
Hier ontmoeten traditie en gedurfde smaken elkaar. Hier is het geloof eenvoudig : goede rode wijn past perfect bij biltong (traditionele Zuid-Afrikaanse Jerky). U zult genieten van een unieke proefervaring die benadrukt hoe hartige lokale smaken het karakter van hun wijnen versterken.

It was a lovely day with stops at two vineyards, excellent food and wine at the tastings. - personable guide, and lots of information shared about the region.
Our spontaneously booked half-day tour to Stellenbosch was a complete success. Our guide Cotlint was awesome. During our trip, she told us quite a bit about the history of winemaking in South Africa and shared information with us about life in Cape Town from up close. Thanks to her, the car ride from Cape Town to Stellenbosch flew by. The two wineries were also impressive, with a very good selection of wines paired with small snacks in the form of cheese or jerky. For us, a must-have on a trip to Cape Town 😊

We had a wonderful half day tour of Stellenbosch. Our guide Cotlint was amazing. She kept us entertained in the car by giving us a lot of information about South Africa. The first winery we stopped at had great wine and cheese (and goats!). The second winery had an incredible view, good wine, tasty jerky, and a vegetarian option for those who don’t eat meat. We were able to walk around the second winery and get great pictures. Following the wine, we had a nice ride through the town of Stellenbosch while Cotlint played us music. The energy was high throughout the tour and that is all thanks to Cotlint. Highly recommend this tour. Dankie Cotlint!
