We komen eerst meer te weten over het Romeinse en middeleeuwse verleden van de City of London. Vervolgens gaan we op zoek naar een organisatie die ooit groter en belangrijker was dan de techgiganten van nu, de East India Company, en onderzoeken we waarom Groot-Brittannië bijna is vergeten dat het ooit heeft bestaan. We ontdekken ook de geschiedenis van de beurs en de middeleeuwse handelsverenigingen die de stad vandaag zo'n karakteristieke plek maken. Bekijk de locatie van de coffeeshop waar de aandelenmarkt voor het eerst was gevestigd. Exchange Alley of Change Alley is een smal steegje dat winkels en koffiehuizen met elkaar verbindt in een oude wijk van de City of London. Het diende als een handige kortere weg van de Royal Exchange op Cornhill naar het postkantoor in Lombard Street en blijft een van de vele steegjes die de twee straten met elkaar verbinden.
Bekijk de middeleeuwse Guildhall en geselecteerd in de buurt van Guild-gebouwen. Middeleeuwse gildezalen werden gebruikt om goederen op te slaan en als plaatsen voor feestelijke evenementen. Wanneer het niet nodig was voor evenementen van gildeleden, werd de zaal vaak een plaats waar stedelingen amusement konden houden, zoals passiespelen.
Zie de moderne aandelenmarkt die uittorent boven de glorieuze St Paul's Cathedral. St Paul's Cathedral is een Anglicaanse kathedraal in Londen. Als zetel van de bisschop van Londen dient de kathedraal als de moederkerk van het bisdom Londen. Het bevindt zich op Ludgate Hill op het hoogste punt van de City of London en is een monumentaal pand.

The best tour walking through London. Terry is telling and talking, sharing his enormous knowledge in a friendly and driven way with interest in us as his audience and is someone you have sympathy for. Can’t be better!
Terry has deep knowledge of the City of London and its financial history that make this tour such an excellent learning experience. He shares stories and facts that are very engaging and make the learning experience very fun. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the long ago history of London and/or the financial origins and financial developments of London.

An excellent two hour walking tour around the City. Having worked in London's financial district for some time I was very impressed that Terry took my son and I to plenty of places I didn't know existed. A really informative tour that began with London's creation on the outskirts of the Roman Empire, through the period of the East India Company and then up to the present day. Terry has an infectious interest in his historical subject. Highly recommended. 10/10.
