Reisroute

This was a uniquely chinese experience at the Opera! Choice of dessert, massage or ear cleaning before the show. Offerings of bottomless tea and sunflower seeds throughout the show. A lovely mix of opera singing, musicians, puppetry, mesmerizing hand shadows and of course the face changing warriors. We had a very memorable time!
This is an entertaining one hour variety show including impressive acrobatics, comedy, opera and face changing. Great for kids and nice presentation overall. Massage was included- we came early for this by an hour and were told to return only 20 min before the show’s start time, but by then lots of people were there and we waited in line for massage which of course took place during the show. Can see the show while getting massage but still would have been nicer to have it before the show started? Otherwise nice experience and be sure to pick up the tickets at the ticket booth across the street beforehand,
Thank you for your honest feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the wonderful Sichuan Opera face-changing and amazing performances. We will improve the massage arrangement to avoid waiting time for guests. Hope you had a lovely night in Chengdu!
The show was awesome, I got the "snack" option. More like enough food for a meal for two. The tea was a very fragrant jasmine green tea.
Hi Kim Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience at our Sichuan Culture Opera Show! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the show and found the "snack" option to be so satisfying. It’s great to know that the jasmine tea complemented your meal perfectly. We look forward to welcoming you back to experience more of Chengdu's culture with us in the future! Best regards
It was very easy to pick up our tickets, which was great. The theatre is amazing and costumes were incredible. We chose the fruit platters as our snacks, which was perfect! The show itself was really good too - the hand shadow lady was awesome and the face changing right at the end was incredible. Some of the other acts felt like they dragged on a bit. But overall, worthit for the experience.

We look forward to creating more memorable cultural experiences for you. Best wishes
I booked a VIP seating with local snacks. Arrived at the venue 30 minutes before the show. Redeemed my ticket at the ticket office in front of the venue after showing them the Viator ticket. No problems whatsoever, the ticket booth is clearly marked. I was seated with lots of time to spare and asked if I wanted fruit, local snacks or a picture in the costumes used for the show. I chose the local snacks which were plenty for at least 2 people to fill up so I would not recommend eating for a couple hours before if you go for this option. The show itself consisted of around 8 different performances which were divided by a host's speech about the upcoming performance so even when not speaking chinese you can understand the gist of what's going on. Generally would recommend the experience, especially if you choose the local snack option. I think the VIP option is worth it since the viewing area is flat and I imagine people in the back might not see the stage as well, although beware that the performance can be really loud at times.
The show was spectacular. There were all kinds of local entertainment shows bundled together, as they are used to in Sichuan. I also had the opportunity to experience a similar show, but this was the better one, so I can only recommend.
Nice experience even if perhaps a non-Chinese tourist does not enjoy it much as a full-bodied part of the show is dialogue in Chinese ... more or less you understand the sense of history thanks to the gesticulation of the actors who are still very good in all the various performances that follow one another. NB: The “change face” show lasts only 15 minutes at the end, an hour and a half is a bit long but the performances are all beautiful and also the massage experience.
I was shocked when I saw your review, and website also required immediate response, with the help of Google Translator, I found you enjoyed the show and satisfied with the performance, so why gave 3* review, it doesn’t match your description, frankly speaking, this is a negative damage to this product.
Amazing show for all age groups, I really loved it, and it's definitely one of the highlights of my Chengdu trip. You get shown to your seat, poured Jasmin tea, given snacks if you paid for it. The hostess translates the introduction to the acts in English after presenting in Chinese. It's a joy to see the entertainers also enjoying themselves and the audience appreciating the talented performers. Would recommend for all to experience this show if and when visiting this beautiful city.
Thank you a lot for your wonderful feedback. This means a lot to us and we wish to see you again in Chengdu!
The opera was very good, not all we understood due to the language barrier. The face changing was fantastic! Your staff also offer a brilliant service to your guests.
Thank you very much for your review, we are looking forward to see you again in Chengdu.
Nice show. More than opera it is a series of various Chinese performances. We had the vip seats that allows to see the show with a great view.
