Verken Rovinj in je eigen tempo met een zelfstandige wandeltocht op je telefoon. U krijgt een duidelijke kaart van alle 9 haltes, eenvoudige aanwijzingen via Google Maps en korte audioverhalen die u kunt afspelen wanneer u elke locatie bereikt. De route loopt langs de historische oude binnenstad en de waterkant, van het Valdiboraplein tot de Riva promenade, langs plaatsen als de Balbi-boog, Grisia Street en de klokkentoren van St. Euphemia. Start wanneer u maar wilt, pauzeer wanneer u maar wilt en verken vrij. Geen groepen, geen schema's. Audio en tekst beschikbaar in 7 talen.

Begin uw wandeling bij de Rovinj-markt op het Valdibora-plein. Open gewoon Ciceru in de buurt om te beginnen met het verkennen van de openluchtkraampjes en de omgeving aan het water, waar handel, kleur en zoute lucht nog steeds het ritme van de stad bepalen.
Sta voor de rode gevel van het Califfipaleis en bekijk de barokke ramen en stenen details, een voormalige adellijke residentie die het plein nu van buitenaf verankert.
Pauzeer onder de Balbi-boog en kijk omhoog naar de gebeeldhouwde stenen gezichten en de Leeuw van San Marco, de ceremoniële toegangspoort die ooit de toegang tot de eilandstad regelde.
Wandel over Piazza Matteotti en geniet van de pastelkleurige gevels en het uitzicht op de haven, een plein gebouwd op land dat op de zee werd teruggewonnen toen Rovinj geen eiland meer was.
Beklim Grisia Street en bewonder de steile stenen stoep, ramen met luiken en met galerijen beklede gevels, een buitengang waar kunst en het dagelijks leven samensmelten.
Kijk omhoog naar de klokkentoren van St. Euphemia en observeer de Venetiaans geïnspireerde vorm en het draaiende standbeeld, een bezienswaardigheid die bijna overal in de stad zichtbaar is.
Sta op de rotsen van Monte Beach en geniet van het contrast tussen steen, zee en de kerk erboven, een ruwe rand waar de oude stad samenkomt met de Adriatische Zee.
Bekijk de resterende delen van de oude stadsmuren en zie hoe huizen direct in de vestingwerken zijn gebouwd, waardoor verdediging wordt omgezet in alledaagse architectuur.
Sluit uw tour af op de Riva promenade. Neem even de tijd om te genieten van de waterkant, de dicht opeengepakte gevels en de plek waar Rovinj’s eilandverleden eindelijk het vasteland ontmoette voordat je je wandeling beëindigde.

The self guided tour depends completely on wifi. I’d the connection us poor you’re our luck. In addition the others that I paid for couldn’t connect to the you’re.. it was a complete wast of time
The narrator obviously knew nothing about the city, and even mispronounced Rovinj throughout the tour. He was just trying to read from a script. That was a real turnoff. It would have been much more interesting for me, if the narrator was native to the city and knew what they were talking about.

We're correcting the Rovinj pronunciation and going back through the script for the places where it reads flat. App didn’t work after the first stop. Shame. Town was beautiful and worth visiting. They need to sort

The tour was OK. I felt there was a lot of information at each stop and some of it was repetitive. It was nice that you could speed up the recording when listening. Overall I would recommend as you did get to walk around and hear the history. Personally we felt we only needed to purchase one tour for our small family of 4 and did not need to purchase per person.

This is a great self guided tour. We enjoyed being able to tour at our own pace, and we learned fascinating details and facts. If we hadn’t done this tour, we would have missed important sites. My suggestion to the developers is to tweak the apps user interface, especially when toggling between the chapters and directions. I ended up having to go back to the email with the link many times. Also the narrator pronounced “Rovinj” a few different ways throughout. All in all a great app and we would happily do it again.
