Beschrijving
Geniet van een rondleiding van 3 uur vanuit Funchal en verken prachtige landschappen en historische locaties. Bezoek Nuns Valley, stop bij Pico dos Barcelos om van het adembenemende uitzicht te genieten en ga naar Eira do Serrado, waar u de Nuns-vallei beneden kunt zien. Deze tour is inclusief vervoer met een minibus met airconditioning en een ophaal- en wegbrengservice van het hotel.

Je begint je tour bij Belvedere. Pico dos Barcelos heeft een observatiepunt aan de rand van Funchal, het is 355 meter (1165 ft). Er is een prachtig uitzicht over Funchal vanaf de top van het uitkijkpunt, waar u ongeveer 15 minuten stopt.
U gaat vervolgens naar Eira do Serrado, met uitzicht op "Curral das Freiras", een vallei in de vorm van een hoefijzer in de verte. De uitzichten hebben drie pure kanten die doorsnijden in de gekartelde toppen van Madeira. Hier werd ten onrechte gedacht dat de hoogste berg van Madeira een vulkanische krater was. Het is nu bekend dat de dramatische geografische vorm werd gecreëerd door de rivier zelf. Vanaf daar kunt u de kleine terrasvormige velden bewonderen die wijn, fruit en groenten verbouwen en de hellingen ver beneden met tamme kastanjebomen. Je stopt daar ongeveer 30 minuten.
Vervolgens ga je naar het dorp Nuns Valley - Curral das Freiras. De vallei ligt in een enorm natuurlijk amfitheater, omringd door enkele van de hoogste toppen van Madeira. Het dorp werd gesticht in de 16e eeuw door de nonnen van het klooster van "Santa Clara" in Funchal, van waaruit de nonnen vluchtten voor piratenaanvallen in 1566. Het centrum van het dorp ligt op een kleine verhoging in het midden van de vallei . Je stopt daar ongeveer 30 minuten

Als uw hotel niet op de lijst staat, geef dan aan zodat pick-up kan worden georganiseerd. Let op : Controleer uw e-mail / whatsapp de dag ervoor voor meer precieze ophaaltijden, en locaties. Alle accommodaties in Funchal, Camara de Lobos Village, Cabo Girao & Canico gebieden zijn inbegrepen in de prijs. Chauffeurs wachten niet langer dan 5 minuten na de geplande ophaaltijd. Houd er rekening mee dat we NIET ophalen van Machico of Santa Cruz of Cruise haven of een andere locatie buiten de bovenstaande.

Hair raising turns through the mountain to reach the view point for Nun's Valley. Glad I had taken my gravol. The view is spectacular once you reach the top. Unbelievable that a village can be found in such a deep valley. The tunnel to reach the village is just over 2 kilometers long. Quaint village.

My husband was up for doing a half day tour and this was one of the only options so we went for it. Manuel, our tour guide was incredible, very knowledgeable and a very safe driver. I was concerned for my husband who gets car sick and is not a fan of driving at high heights but Manuel took his time and knew the roads well. The best part was Eira do Serrado; stunning views even though we had quite a cloudy afternoon. We got given enough time at each of the stops and overall, thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Would highly recommend if you’re looking for something to do that doesn’t take up your whole day.

Punctual pickup by the driver, who was also an excellent guide. He knew a lot about Madeira and the destination, drew our attention to several plants along the way, each of which he seemed to know. All in all, a highly recommended tour.

Pick up was on time but we were the last on the bus and we sat in the front seats which were very cramped for two tall adults. The mini bus was small but well driven. The stops were good with plenty of opportunities for shopping.

However, we sincerely apologize that the seating arrangement resulted in a cramped experience, particularly the front seats being very cramped for two tall adults.We will take your feedback into consideration regarding seat allocation for taller passengers when possible.
