Ontdek het grote stadhuis en het legendarische Spite House (Inat kuća). Aan de overkant van de straat, leer over de brug van de burgemeester (Šeher-ćehaja) door de "Legende van de diamant" en het grappige verhaal van de "Geblinddoekte dienaar.
Keizersbrug & Hamam van Isa Bey Wandel over de Keizersbrug naar de oudste Hamam (Turks bad) van de stad. Volgens de legende was dit de ultieme luxe van de 15e eeuw, waar een geheim ondergronds kanaal het bad verbond met de moskee voor de rituele zuiverheid van de Sultan. Tegenwoordig staat het symbool voor de 'Gouden Eeuw' toen Sarajevo de modernste stad van de Balkan was.
Baščaršijaplein & Sebilj Het kloppende hart van Sarajevo. De legende zegt: „Wie het koude water van de Sebiljfontein een keer drinkt, zal onvermijdelijk terugkeren naar Sarajevo." Het is het meest iconische symbool van de stad, omgeven door 500 jaar levende geschiedenis en het beroemde 'Duivenplein'.
Oudorthodoxe Kerk (Stara pravoslavna crkva) Een van 's werelds oudste orthodoxe kerken met een slimme legende. Om toestemming te krijgen om het te bouwen, werd de lokale bevolking verteld dat de kerk slechts zo groot mocht zijn als een enkele ossenhuid. Ze hebben op ingenieuze wijze de huid in één lange, dunne strook gesneden, en cirkelden rond dit hele stuk land om de regels te slim af te zijn!
Het Graf van de Zeven Gebroeders Een plaats van diepe lokale mystiek waar zeven onschuldige mannen werden begraven. De legende zegt dat als je een munt in elk van de zeven ramen laat vallen, niet omkijkt en luistert naar de eerste woorden van een voorbijganger – je een goddelijk antwoord krijgt op de geheime wens van je leven.
Verken de Sarajevo Brewery, de reddingslijn van de stad tijdens de belegering van de jaren 1990 als enige bron van zoet water. Vlak ernaast ligt de St. Anthony’s Church, een spiritueel heiligdom waar de lokale bevolking van alle religies kaarsen komt aansteken en bidt dat hun diepste wensen worden vervuld.
Opgedragen aan Sultan Mehmed de Veroveraar, is dit Sarajevo's eerste moskee. De legende zegt dat de stichter van de stad, Isa-beg Ishaković, hier begraven ligt in een ongemarkeerd graf, en nederigheid en anonimiteit verkiest boven een groots monument voor de eeuwigheid.
Bewonder het meesterwerk van de Ottomaanse architectuur en 's werelds enige openbare maanklok.
Kathedraal van het Heilig Hart Het centrum van het katholieke leven in de stad, gebouwd in een prachtige neogotische stijl geïnspireerd door Europese kathedralen.
Een gedenkteken voor de bevrijders van Sarajevo en een symbool van de geest van de stad die nooit uitgaat.
Markt van Tašlihan & Bezistan Wandel door de ruïnes van een middeleeuws reizigers pension en winkel in de "Sarajevo Souk" die in geen eeuwen is veranderd.
De moordplek (1914) - Latin Bridge Ga op de exacte plek staan waar de vonk van de Eerste Wereldoorlog werd ontstoken, en verander de loop van de wereldgeschiedenis.
Sarajevo Ontmoeting van Culturen (Oost ontmoet West) Beschrijving : "Ga op de exacte lijn staan waar twee werelden botsen. In het oosten zie je de smalle Ottomaanse straatjes uit de 15e eeuw; in het westen de grootse Oostenrijks-Hongaarse architectuur uit de 19e eeuw. Het is de ultieme 'tijdmachine'-plek die bewijst waarom Sarajevo de plek is waar Oost en West elkaar niet zomaar ontmoeten - ze wonen samen."
Bezoek de belangrijkste openluchtmarkt van de stad, een plek die zelfs tijdens de 1.425 dagen van het beleg de hartslag van Sarajevo bleef. We tonen ons respect op de plaats van twee tragische bloedbaden (1994 - 1995) en zien de 'Sarajevo Rose' - een gedenkteken in het asfalt dat de slachtoffers eert en de onbreekbare geest en wil van de stad om te overleven symboliseert.

We had a wonderful walking tour of Sarajevo with Malik. We visited the city’s most important historical sites, but what really made the experience special were all the fascinating stories and insights he shared along the way — things we would never have discovered simply walking around on our own. Sarajevo is an incredibly rich and complex city, with so much history behind every corner, and having a knowledgeable guide really adds another dimension to exploring it. Malik was also extremely friendly, kind and engaging throughout the tour. A great experience and very much recommended!

Excellent experience! The meeting point is in a perfect central location, making it very easy to start the tour. We covered a lot of Sarajevo's landmarks, but what made this tour truly special were the stories behind them. I highly recommend this tour. For just two hours, I felt I learned so much about Sarajevo and its history. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and accommodating. During the summer, I recommend going in the morning to avoid the hottest part of the day.
