Bezoek Los Tres Ojos (De Drie Ogen) — een prachtig natuurpark met drie kristalheldere grotten en opvallende rotsformaties. Eén grot was zelfs te zien in Jurassic Park. Voordat je de tour voortzet, heb je tijd om te verkennen, het toilet te gebruiken of een drankje te drinken in de cafetaria.
Onderweg naar de Colonial Zone geniet u van een panoramisch uitzicht op de Columbus Lighthouse. Maak vervolgens een begeleide wandeling door de historische koloniale stad, inclusief een bezoek aan de First Cathedral of the Americas en het National Pantheon. Je gaat ongeveer 3 uur te voet op verkenning, dus zorg ervoor dat je comfortabele schoenen draagt.

They didn’t fulfill all the visits they mention in their post and we spent more time on transportation than on attractions. Lousy.
Lamentamos mucho que su experiencia no haya cumplido con sus expectativas. Según nuestra comunicación previa, la única atracción que no pudieron visitar fue el Alcázar, que lamentablemente no estuvo disponible ese día debido a circunstancias ajenas a nosotros. Pedimos disculpas por este inconveniente. Sin embargo, el resto del tour siguió el itinerario programado, por lo que no podemos estar de acuerdo con la afirmación de que el tour no se realizó según lo planeado, excepto por este único inconveniente. Valoramos sus comentarios y seguiremos trabajando para mejorar nuestros servicios para futuros huéspedes.
We had an amazing experience on this trip. The tour combines fun, culture, and history of Santo Domingo. They picked us up at our hotel, and the guides were very professional. I highly recommend this trip to other travelers!!

It started well, would be picked up at 0700 but that was around 0830. One blamed the other, the truth in the middle. From Punta Cana each agency gathers at one point and from there a guide goes with it. We were either unlucky or lucky that it rained. Personally, I don't think it matters much which trip you book. Keep in mind that the seats on the bus are not that wide 😉

I messaged the tour operator asking if the tour was in English. I was assured the tour had an English translator. I was informed that the tour does not pick up in Punta Cana, but if I paid the bus driver $20 he would pick me up at my Punta Cana hotel. I paid the driver $20 when he picked me up. I was taken to another bus and when we were en route to Santo Domingo the tour guide called new driver asking if I paid him the $20. The driver and tour guide (on phone) only spoke Spanish. It was fortunate that a couple of other patrons on the tour spoke English as they had to translate that I already paid the driver who picked me up at the hotel. I then paid the current driver another $20 as I wanted to make sure I would get home at the end of the day. We picked up a tour guide in Santo Domingo. Basically, the whole tour was in Spanish although the guide did translate a few times. All the patrons on the tour were very nice and often translated for me. Be forewarned that we stopped at 3 shopping spots plus a short stop at the caves. My understanding is that the DM government requires the tours to stop at a local shop but stopping at 3 different stores seemed excessive. I took 2 other tours during my stay and we only stopped at one shop. I was glad I could see Santo Domingo and meet the other nice patrons, but I had really expected more of the tour.

During your trip, you really had to make a $20 surcharge because your hotel's location was in a different area. Unfortunately, the driver could misunderstand you and accept $20 as a tip. On the day of your trip, we did not receive information from you that you have paid more than necessary, and we regret that we will not be able to refund your payment. Regarding translation, as you mentioned above, the guides try to translate and help our guests understand the information about the place they are going to. Now we have changed the description of the tour and removed the English language from there. However, guests who do not speak Spanish can also participate. Visiting local shops is provided by the program. This type of business is one of the fundamental for the Dominican Republic. Many guests ask for a free transfer to these places, but you had the opportunity to visit them as part of the tour. To Munch time spent, like 3 hours of the tour outside thise horrible gift shops, that could have been used to se Santa Domingo.
I am sorry. It was a part of the program that was written. All tour operators go around Gift shops. It's approved rote by Ministerio de Turismo it's impossible to change it. It's against the law. I would love to improve it. But unfortunately, it's not possible.
It was amazing trip, excursion guide was very helpful, I recommend for everyone who want know more about the history of this country
