Verken Praia tijdens een rondleiding door de gemeentelijke markt en de belangrijkste historische bezienswaardigheden van de stad. Bezoek Cidade Velha, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed, en leer over de geschiedenis van de slavernij in de eerste stad gebouwd door Europeanen in Afrika bezuiden de Sahara.

Begin met het ophalen van uw accommodatie.
Vertrek naar het historische centrum van Plateau en start de wandeltocht door de Jaime Mota Militaire Barakken, het Presidentieel Paleis, het Alexandre Albuquerque Plein, tot aan de Gemeentelijke Markt (gesloten op zondag).
Hier ontmoet je de lokale bevolking en vind je een diversiteit aan lokale groenten en fruit. Verken daarna de grootste souvenirmarkt van Kaapverdië, de Sucupira-markt, en ervaar het dagelijkse leven van de Kaapverdische familie.
Ga verder naar Cidade Velha, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed en de eerste stad gebouwd door Europeanen in Afrika bezuiden de Sahara. Bij aankomst maak je een begeleide wandeling door het fort São Filipe, verken je de ruïnes van de eerste kathedraal gebouwd door Europeanen in Sub-Sahara Afrika, de voormalige slavenmarkt en de beroemde Banana Street met zijn rieten huizen.
Bezoek het fort Real de São Filipe dat in 1587 werd gebouwd om de stad te verdedigen door de aanvallen van piraten. Houd er rekening mee dat de €5 per persoon voor toegang tot het fort niet is inbegrepen.
Ontdek de ruïnes van de eerste Afrikaanse kathedraal onder de Sahara, de enige kathedraal van het land,
Bezoek de voormalige slavenmarkt in Pilourinho, een symbool van de gemeentelijke macht, op de pas.
Bezoek de beroemde Bananenstraat met zijn traditionele huizen en ontmoet lokale vissers.
Na een gedenkwaardige dag eindigt uw tour met een drop-off bij uw accommodatie.

This excursion was really good. My guide, Bamba, gave me a lot of information about the history of the city and the fortress and answered all my questions. The vegetation around Cidade Velha is very beautiful. I highly recommend this tour!
Superb excursion!! Cathia with another guide showed us Praia. They allowed us to learn more about the history of Cape Verde. We visited some beautiful places. If you want to learn the history of Cape Verde I recommend this authentic and very well organized excursion
Elton is very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. He gave us lots of time to take photos and even allowed us to purchase souvenirs at the market with no complains. Even gave us a quick break and had bbq chicken at the park. Also, got a chance to interact with the kids at the plaza. Advise for future Viator bookers: Bring water and do not leave it in the car, you’ll definitely need it. Don’t make the same mistake like us haha! Much respect to Ahérton as well for providing the transportation. He was an angel at the right place at the right time. He helped us out when we landed at the airport to get to our hotel because our driver didn’t show up and we do not know how to communicate Portuguese. Coincidentally, he was our driver on our tour guide. People in Praia Cape Verde are very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Permitted to have more time to spend on the island, we would’ve. Thank you again for these hardworking folks!
Though I was picked up a bit later than my scheduled time but my Guide Ivana was wonderful and made up for it. She was knowledgable, friendly and accomodating. It was a tour to see some major attractions of Praia. I recommend going on this tour. Thank you Ivana for a good tour.
We spent 12 days in Cape Verde, specifically on Santiago and Maio, and it was one of our best trips thanks to the Bu country team 😊🙏🏻 their guides are great, always smiling, patient and dedicated and people at the office do not count their working hours to satisfy your desires and needs, as well as to alleviate last minute situations 😌😌 big thanks to the whole team, Djibril, Afi, Damaris, Elizandro, Admilson, Luisa,... as well as all the people we met through this trip and with whom we shared magical moments ❤️❤️

I really enjoyed this tour and learning about the history and culture of Praia and Cidade Velha. Our guide was prompt, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. My only critique would be to include more about African history, contributions, and culture during the tour. It was heavily focused on Europe.
