Tijdens onze Secret Food Tour : San Francisco - North Beach en Chinatown ervaar je de meest iconische delen van “The City by the Bay”. Onze ervaren gidsen nemen je mee op een heerlijke reis door de Gold Rush dagen van de Barbarijse kust. Terwijl de meeste tourbedrijven zich alleen richten op de ene buurt boven de andere, duiken we diep in beide om u een voorproefje van het beste van beide werelden te bieden. Tijdens je reis eet je pizza met een verrassingstopping rechtstreeks uit de baai van de Stille Oceaan! Je zult de koffiecultuur van de West Coast verkennen en merken dat je meer van onze geheime hap wilt! Je ontdekt ook de werking van onze wereldberoemde kabelbanen, onderzoekt de ondeugende rosse buurt, ontdekt waar de “The Godfather” werd geschreven en bedacht, en dwaalt door de steegjes waar de oorspronkelijke mijnwerkers 49’ers hun zakken nieuw gevonden goud verzilverden. Het Cable Car Museum is een gratis museum in de wijk Nob Hill in San Francisco, Californië. Het bevindt zich aan Mason Street 1201 en bevat historische en verklarende tentoonstellingen over het kabelbaansysteem van San Francisco, dat zelf kan worden beschouwd als een werkend museum.
North Beach, een levendige wijk vol Italiaans erfgoed, trekt locals en toeristen naar de trattoria's met geruit tafelkleed, de coffeeshops en bars met retrosmaak. De geest van de Beat Generation is voelbaar in de legendarische City Lights-boekhandel en de met memorabilia gevulde Vesuvio Cafe-bar. In Telegraph Hill bieden de Filbert Steps een schilderachtige wandeling naar de iconische Coit Tower, met muurschilderingen uit het WPA-tijdperk en panoramische uitzichten.
San Francisco's Little Italy, is het bohemien hart van de stad. Gevestigd door Italiaanse immigranten, is het de geboorteplaats van Cioppino en een pionier van de Amerikaanse espressocultuur. Naast eten verwierf het wereldwijde bekendheid als het epicentrum van de Beat Generation in City Lights Bookstore uit de jaren vijftig. Vandaag de dag is het een centrum van "Italiaans" fusie, waar de oude bakkerijen en trottoir cafés een Old World charme behouden tegen een achtergrond van literaire geschiedenis en iconische uitzichten op Washington Square Park.
Chinatown is de oudste Chinese enclave van Noord-Amerika en het historische hart van San Francisco. Het werd opgericht in de jaren 1850 en is een symbool van veerkracht dat de aardbeving van 1906 en discriminerende wetten heeft overleefd. Het zorgde voor een revolutie in de eetcultuur van SF door dim sum, het gelukskoekje en levendige natte markten in het Westen te introduceren. Vandaag de dag blijft het een dicht, bruisend centrum waar pagodearchitectuur, verborgen steegjes en oude eetgelegenheden immigrantentradities combineren met moderne Kantonese lekkernijen.
Coit Tower is een 65 meter hoge toren in de wijk Telegraph Hill in San Francisco, Californië, en biedt een panoramisch uitzicht over de stad en de baai. De toren, in het Pioneer Park van de stad, werd gebouwd tussen 1932 en 1933 met behulp van Lillie Hitchcock Coit's legaat om de stad San Francisco te verfraaien.

Went on this tour with my teen daughter and absolutely loved the entire experience. We had a small group and the best tour director, Mark. He is a 4th generation San Franciscan and a chef. His passion for his city and food was evident in his fabulous storytelling ability. I strongly recommend this tour.

We had a really great time on this food tour! Our tour guide Jamie was so nice and made the experience even better. The food was really good, and I liked all the places we stopped at. It was not only a fun way to explore San Francisco, but also very educational. We learned a lot about the city’s history and the neighborhoods we visited. This tour was great! Some hills, but mostly flat! Our guide, "D", was so nice, knowledgeable of the historical spots we walked past/through! The food choices were great! We were all full at the end! Try the Purple Rice smoothie! Tasty...
