Salt Mines trip was excellent. Guide excellent. Sound of Music tour was excellent. Guide Kylie brilliant. Lots of singing and fun.
Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed both the Salt Mines and Sound of Music tours. It’s wonderful to know that Kylie made your experience so enjoyable with plenty of singing, fun, and great memories. We’ll be delighted to share your kind words with her. Thank you for choosing Panorama Tours, and we hope to see you again on another adventure! Warm regards, Panorama Tours
We booked the double tour - salt mine and Sound of Music. The salt mine tour surprised us, we both enjoyed it, the mine tour is part museum, part adventure park, part light show. The guide was great. He told some jokes, he intentionally spoke to every person/group on the bus. You could tell he cares about his job. The Sound of Music tour was always the main event of the day for us however, particularly me who has wanted to do it for 45 years. Unfortunately I don't think our guide was into it. He wasn't even wearing leiderhosen with the braces as I saw another guide wearing. The females all had dirndles on. Maybe it was the hot day, maybe he hates his job, but although he said all the lines in the script, waved the goat around and did the actions for do-re-mi, but it really just felt like he was going through the motions. He even stated that he has never watched the movie. Not once. Just some scenes that were obviously required watching to get the job. This disappointed me greatly. He walked incredibly fast away from the bus each time; we're 'fast' walkers, but couldn't keep up. Another patron said to him "gee you walk fast", he replied "I have to" then we stood in silence waiting for the rest of the tour group who were spread out over >100m to reach us. He didn't do anything "wrong", but he certainly did not try to make the tour fun. We spoke to some people in a cooking class last night who said the tour was so much fun and their guide was excellent and funny and engaging. I wish we'd had that guide. A lifetime bucket list activity that will be remembered as a disappointment.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your experience. We truly appreciate your honest feedback, and we are especially grateful that you chose to spend a day with us for what was clearly a very meaningful experience. First of all, we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Salt Mine tour. It's wonderful to know that the tour exceeded your expectations and that you found it to be such a unique combination of history, adventure, and entertainment. We are especially pleased that your guide made you feel welcome, engaged with everyone on the bus, and shared his enthusiasm throughout the experience. We will certainly pass your kind words on to him—they will mean a great deal. At the same time, we are genuinely sorry to learn that the Sound of Music tour did not live up to your expectations, particularly knowing that this had been a dream of yours for over 45 years. We can only imagine how disappointing it must have been to finally experience something that had been on your bucket list for so long, only to feel that the atmosphere and enthusiasm you had hoped for were missing. While every guide has their own personality and presentation style, we fully understand that the Sound of Music tour is much more than simply visiting filming locations. For many of our guests, it is an emotional journey filled with nostalgia, music, and cherished memories. A guide's enthusiasm, storytelling, and ability to create a fun and engaging atmosphere are an important part of that experience. We are sorry to hear that you felt your guide seemed to be going through the motions rather than sharing in the excitement of the tour. We also understand your disappointment regarding his comment about never having watched the full movie. Although our guides are trained extensively and know the history, filming locations, and stories behind the tour, we recognize that hearing this may have diminished the sense of connection you were hoping for. We also appreciate your comments about the walking pace. Tours should be enjoyable and comfortable for everyone, and guests should never feel rushed or left behind. We will certainly share this feedback with our guiding team as a reminder to ensure that the entire group can comfortably stay together throughout the tour. It is particularly disappointing to hear that you later spoke with other travelers whose experience was so different. We always strive to provide a consistently memorable experience, regardless of which guide our guests happen to have. Your feedback highlights that we still have work to do in ensuring that consistency. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us. Although we regret that we could not provide the unforgettable Sound of Music tour you had imagined, your comments are invaluable and will be discussed with our team. We sincerely hope that, despite this disappointment, you were still able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Salzburg and its surroundings, and we wish you many wonderful travels ahead. Warm regards, Your Salzburg Panorama Tours Team
Fabulous day, 2 separate bus tours, same company, extremely well organised to ensure you don't miss anything. Salt Mines 4 hour tour was great fun, you put on overalls, head down the mines on little trains, a couple slippery slides even a short boat ride whilst learning how mining has changed over the years. Then back to Salzburg a very short wait then onto a different bus for Sound of Music tour with Bridget our guide. She is vivacious and knowledgeable as we visit sights even sing songs from the famous movie. This is a must do tour in Salzburg with amazing scenery as well. A very enjoyable day.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed both the Salt Mines and the Original Sound of Music® tours and that everything was well organized throughout your day. It's great to know that you had so much fun exploring the Salt Mines, from the little trains and slides to the boat ride, while learning about the fascinating history of salt mining. We're also thrilled that Bridget made your Sound of Music® tour so memorable with her enthusiasm, knowledge, and love for the film. Your kind recommendation means a lot to our team, and we're happy that you were able to experience the beautiful scenery and unique highlights of Salzburg. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in the future. Warm regards, Panorama Tours
Susi was a great tour guide. I was privileged to get to ride in a smaller group with her. She was clear, direct, informative and funny. Would love to take another tour with her in the future. The only bummer at the saltmines is that youre not allowed to take photos inside. You get 2 pics taken of you and/or your tour group for purchase.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour with Susi and appreciated her informative, engaging, and humorous guiding style. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to her – she'll be thrilled to hear them. We also understand your disappointment about not being able to take photos inside the salt mines. Unfortunately, this policy is set by the salt mine operators and is beyond our control. We hope the memories – and perhaps the official photos – will still serve as a great reminder of your experience. We'd love to welcome you on another tour in the future!
The tors and tour guodes were great. However, I was expecting one long tour with an opportunity to have a relaxed lunch between activities. Because it was essentially two separate tours on the same day, there was little to no opportunity to eat and I felt rushed at each stop.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re very glad to hear that you enjoyed the tours and found both guides to be great. We understand your expectation of having one continuous experience with enough time for a relaxed lunch break. Our program is designed as two separate tours on the same day, which allows guests to experience more highlights, but we appreciate that this can sometimes make the schedule feel a bit rushed. Your comments are valuable to us, and we will take them into account as we continue to review the timing and overall flow of our tours. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.
As a life long fan, the sound of music tour is a lot of fun. The guide, Mitch, was funny and full of energy. Def recommend.
Jose and Galinda were our tour guides and they were great! The Sound of Music tour stopped at several places, and we were able to see so many of the places where it was filmed. We also learned more details about the Von Trapp family. We also did the salt mine tour which is a lot to do in a day, but we like to paxl ot in. I'd highly recommend both tours!
We did the salt mines & sound of music tour in one day. It is actually on two coaches, first off to the salt mines with a well informed guide and then an hour in Bertchesgaden, to have some lunch or just wander round. Then back on the coach to the start point, where we boarded another coach for the Sound of music tour. It was good fun, with a bit of a sing song along the way!
This was one of the highlights of our time in Salzburg. Really enjoyed the salt mine. Our tour guide was awesome and I loved shopping in the smaller village. The SOM tour was so fun! Jose was amazing. Fun and knowledgeable! Highly recommended this tour.
Thank you very much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that your time in Salzburg was one of the highlights of your trip and that you enjoyed the salt mine experience, the SOM tour, and exploring the smaller village. It’s also wonderful to know that Jose made such a positive impression with his knowledge and enthusiasm. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in Salzburg in the future!
Both great tours. Our teens enjoyed them too. Tour guides were very knowledgeable about each location.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed both tours and that even your teens had a great time. It’s wonderful to know our guides’ knowledge made the experience even more enjoyable. Warm regards, Your Salzburg Panorama Tours Team
