Bezoek Kehlsteinhaus, beter bekend als het Adelaarsnest, tijdens een tour van een halve dag vanuit Salzburg. Reis door het spectaculaire landschap van de Königsseeriviervallei en de Beierse Alpen naar Obersalzberg, en ga verder naar het Adelaarsnest met de pendelbus en lift. Ontloop de menigte met uw ticket waarmee u niet in de rij hoeft te staan, maak een tour door Hitlers voormalige toevluchtsoord met een deskundige gids en geniet van het uitzicht op de Alpen voordat u terugkeert naar Salzburg.

Begin uw tour langs het stadscentrum van Salzburg met zijn prachtige barokke stadsbeeld
Voordat je de Duitse grens oversteekt, passeer je het hartchakra van Europa - Untersberg, dit fascinerende monument dat al eeuwen betoverd is met zijn mythische kracht, Hitler koos er zelfs voor om zijn hoofdkwartier op de Obersalzberg te bouwen, zodat hij de Untersberg elke dag kon zien.
Aankomst in het bergdorpje Obersalzberg. Slang de schilderachtige weg op tijdens een korte rit met de pendelbus en geniet van adembenemende uitzichten op spectaculaire bergketens in de Alpen en het diepblauwe Kings Lake. Stap dan uit en stap in een lift uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, gemaakt van koper, die ooit de gasten van Hitler naar het Adelaarsnest vervoerde. Bovenaan omzeil je de drukte met een ticket voor directe toegang en betreed je het complex. Gebouwd voor de 50e verjaardag van Hitler, dwaal met je gids over de site en leer gaandeweg de geschiedenis erachter. Geniet van het ongelooflijke uitzicht terwijl je uitkijkt vanaf een baars van zo'n 5.000 voet (1.524 meter) boven de grond.
Bezoek daarna het charmante bergstadje Berchtesgaden. Verken zelfstandig dit pittoreske historische centrum en probeer tijdens uw verblijf een aantal lokale specialiteiten. Je komt ook langs Schloss Berchtesgaden.

Fascinating history combined with stunning views. Our guide was very informative. The tour was very well managed and efficient. We were fortunate to catch a perfect weather day but it would be well worth it on an overcast day.
This was a compact tour up to Eagle’s Nest, with a very knowledgeable guide (Johannes), who made sure I (as a disabled person) was fine at every point. The tour was as advertised and I have no complaints, but I wish there was one that was slightly longer to take in the museum. We stopped for lunch on the way back; the apple strudel was delicious!

Mitch was a great guide - knowledgeable, friendly, humorous. The Little Dragon is a very good driver. The Eagle's Nest has a dark past but is now an excellent spot to look out at the Bavarian Alps, small villages & a lake. Berchtesgaden is a lovely place to stop for lunch.

We did the sound of music tour with Panorama the day before, and it was so well organised we were so glad to see we were booked with them again for the Eagles Nest and Berchtesgaden. We had Mitch as our guide today (same guide as sound of music tour) and we were delighted as he was a font of knowledge and an excellent guide. He really made us laugh and smile so many times over the 2 tours. Little Dragon was our driver and he kept us all safe on those very bendy roads. Eagles Nest was amazing. It was a bucket list visit for my husband who is a big follower of anything WW2 related. We had a very clear day, with little clouds. It was beautiful up there. Very well run. I would have liked more time at the bottom to visit the museum and same for our stop to Berchtesgaden, but this was a tour and we knew in advance of agenda and timings, so not a complaint. If anything, it has made us want to return to Salzburg again to explore more. Highly recommend this tour. What an amazing few days we have had.

It is exciting to go see eagles nest and our guide was great. But the value was poor. After an hour on buses or more we walked through 3 toons and the main objective was to walk to the top of a little hill and see the views. We spent time reading all the photo displays and history and then barely had time to walk up and see the surroundings. Then the bus takes you to a small Austrian village to basically burn time while you look for something to do: shopping (?) or coffee. This was a waste of time in order to make the tour seem worth the money and length of time. Really disappointed and would never have gone if we had known. We haven’t ever had a disappointing tour with Viator or felt ripped off but this one did it.
A fun and informative tour with history coming alive - Jose’s experience and captivating presentation really helped our tour understand the role Berchtesgaden and Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest played during WWII. A nice mix of learning, walking through the Eagle’s Nest, and sharing lunch afterwards.
