- Skip-the-line tickets voor Fort Hohensalzburg bieden snellere toegang zonder wachtrij bij de kassa. Toegang is voor alle delen van het kasteelcomplex en een rondrit met de kabelbaan. Onze excuses voor het ongemak, maar vanwege een kabelbaanrevisie, van 13.01.2025 tot 31.01.2025 kunt u het fort alleen via het voetpad bereiken.

We did not book any tours before we arrived in Salzburg, so there was not many to choose from since we were on there for one full day. We ended up booking this private guided tour for our family (2 adults and 1 child). Unfortunately, the day of the tour the temperate was very HOT that day. The tour guide walked us through the 6 hour tour in 5 1/2 hours. Since it was such a hot day, the tour guide did recommend a Yogurt shop so we could cool down some, and we went past a couple of water fountains along the tour so we could refill our water bottles. The tour guide was not a native English speaking person, to at times he talked rather fast and it was hard to understand what he was saying. We really enjoyed going to the Fortress and touring it and seeing some of it's museums. At the end of the tour, the tour guide took us to a popular place so we could get a good beer of cool us down, and there were several places to buy food. Overall, the tour was good, but we felt is was a little over priced.

Fine for first day orientation to Salzburg, not a lot of depth. Facts, dates, little in the way of interpretation.
Truly an amazing experience with an incredibly knowledgeable guide who gave us so much insight into Salzburg’s rich and interesting history.

From the river level it does not look as large as it is. Tickets were reasonable, get the upgraded one for another 3.50 E. The many dimensions and histories of this fortress are told in the various rooms and forms of construction as you pass though each stage of the walking tour. It is uncrowded and easy to navigate. This is a must tour in you are in Saltzburg.

Peter was an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge. He actually ran over by about 1/2 hr and we loved it. Unfortunately, we did NOT get to see the fortress.

If I could give Marwan six stars I would. He gave us a wonderful tour of the city and the fortress all day and was a wealth of knowledge. Since my wife and I are academics, we appreciated the depth of knowledge that he had about the city and the willingness to show us all sorts of places. I especially appreciated his patience and willingness to accommodate my wife who has difficulty walking. This was a private tour and well worth the money.
