Het Marionettentheater van Salzburg heeft talloze kinderen en volwassenen al een eeuw lang gecharmeerd en is over de hele wereld beroemd geworden. Sinds 2016 is het opgenomen in de UNESCO-lijst van immaterieel cultureel erfgoed. De uitvoeringstechniek van het Marionettentheater van Salzburg is uitgeroepen tot een cultureel erfgoed dat het bewaren waard is, als de 'meest ontwikkelde vorm van poppen- en figuurtheater'. In dit unieke barokke auditorium presenteren ze opera's, waaronder de Magische fluit van Mozart, evenals de Salzburgse klassieker The Sound of Music , Tsjaikovsky's Notenkraker- ballet en Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream of The Little Prince van Saint-Exupéry . Kinderen zullen zeker van Peter en de Wolf of Rumpelstiltskin houden . Dit is voor één toegangsbewijs om de show van keuze te zien, die beschikbaar is. Excellent puppetry. Wonderfully entertaining show. The Magic Flute is a wonderful opera and performed by marionettes was a real delight. Highly recommend.
Wonderfully entertaining and masterful puppet art - the dolls almost seem to ‘live’ and even sing.
Lots of fun if you have a miserable weather day in Salzburg. Simple, yet enjoyable retelling of the Magic Flute with puppets.
The Salzburg Marionette Theatre is definitely worth a visit for young and old. Already in the entrance hall and also in the passageway to the theatre hall, you can learn a lot of interesting facts about the creation or production and the history of the puppets, can also admire them on site (partly behind glass). The short version of the Magic Flute definitely benefits the younger visitors, whose attention span is rather shorter, but of course also "impatient" tourists . Particularly impressive is the beginning of the play, where during the overture the (still) visible "puppeteers" set up the scenery and move the puppets into position, before the black curtains only release the stage design and puppets. This gives the audience an approximate impression of how such a performance (by human hand) comes about.

Very great and recommended activity in Salzburg! We visited the short version of the Magic Flute (30€ per ticket, category 1). It was very impressive to admire the puppet art with Mozart music in the beautiful Baroque hall! Would do it again in a heartbeat!

Delightful presentation. Child friendly. Easy to see performance. Easy to access theater and close to other attractions.
One hour show was perfect, we’ll done. Great for kids but more interesting if you actually understand German.
