Plaats waar we meer dan 20 oude locomotieven en wagons zien verspreid over de ijzige vloer van de altiplano, roestig ijzer ... Daar werd in 1899 de eerste spoorlijn van het land aangelegd, die Uyuni met Antofagasta communiceerde en diende voor het transport van mineralen zoals tin, zilver en zelfs goud, Het potentieel van de Huanchaca-zilvermijnen maakte de spoorweg al snel tot een ruggengraat van de industriële ontwikkeling.
Het dorp Colchani 23 km. de Uyuni is het stoppunt, vooral waar we de zoutfabriek, zouthandelswinkels en ook handwerk op basis van lama-vezels en alpaca kunnen zien, de perfecte plek waar u souvenirs kunt kopen bij de Uyuni Salt Flat.
We betreden de grootste zoutvlakte ter wereld, Salar De Uyuni, waar we de stapels zout zien of de winning van zout voortzetten, we bezoeken de Ojos del Salar-plaats waar de beweging van het water met emanatie van gassen wordt waargenomen, we komen aan bij het hotel of museum van Salt Playa Blanca om de vlaggen van verschillende landen te zien, monument van de Dakar (lunch) we gaan verder naar het midden van de Salt flat, perfecte plek waar we de foto's met perspectief nemen. (grappige foto's)
Perfecte plek waar we meer dan 1 uur een tour hebben gemaakt om de oude reuzencactussen te zien en een panoramisch uitzicht rond de Salar, je kunt ook het Coral Window zien. (Het bezoek aan deze plek is afhankelijk van het regenseizoen). Na terugkomst aan de rand van de Salar gaan we op zoek naar een plek met water om van de zonsondergang te genieten. We kwamen om 20:00 uur aan in Uyuni. Het kan worden achtergelaten op de luchthaven of het hotel, bushalte.

The Salar de Uyuni itself is absolutely breathtaking, but our experience with Salty Desert Aventours did not fully meet expectations. One of the key highlights listed in the itinerary is **Isla Incahuasi (Cacti Island)**. However, during the tour the driver/guide initially claimed that the island was “not part of the itinerary.” After we insisted and showed that it was indeed included, he then made several excuses not to go, saying it was too far and that the rainy season would make the trip there and back take too long. This conflicted with what was advertised on the booking page. As a group, we decided to skip other stops such as the salt factory and salt craft shops and asked him to take us directly to Isla Incahuasi. He eventually agreed, though reluctantly, and we are very glad we insisted because it ended up being the highlight of our trip. It’s an incredible place in the middle of the salt flats, with thousands of cacti growing on a hill and truly unique 360 views. Another issue was that the driver moved very slowly between stops and often seemed to be delaying, which reduced the time we could spend enjoying the locations. We also had to repeatedly ask him to take photos for us. Perspective photos on the salt flats are a big part of the experience, while other groups nearby had guides actively assisting guests with photos. Salar de Uyuni is an amazing destination, but the poor guiding and failure to follow the advertised itinerary made this tour less enjoyable than it could have been. I would recommend researching other operators if you want a smoother and more engaging experience.
On December 30, 25, we booked a one-day Salar de Uyuni tour with Jose as tour guide. This was an incredible tour, it couldn't have been better. The nature was breathtaking, the photos correspondingly fantastic. Jose has given us a truly unforgettable experience. He took care of us lovingly and went to great lengths with everything. I'm Andrés from Colombia. An incredible experience in a magical place like the Salar de Uyuni. We are lucky that the weather allowed us to see the mirror effect we wanted to see so much. Alejandro our guide does a spectacular job with a detailed explanation of the sites visited during the day. The photo shoot that makes those who pay for this tour is a great job with very professional results. I recommend this tour and Alejandro, we were very satisfied with everything. Great experience! Our guide driver was perfect (Gilberto), considerate, and very friendly. Unfortunately we had a bus problem back to La Paz which forced us to shorten the service (from 2 days to 1 day) and the whole team helped us so that this setback was no longer a problem. I highly recommend!
Fantastic day tour of the salt flat of Uyuni guided by José, who explained in detail the history and particularities of the place. From morning until dusk a unique experience. 100% recommended.
This was probably the most outstanding, unbelievable, incredible experience my partner and I have ever experienced. The landscape and views were like no other. It felt like we were at the edge of the world. Our trip felt so smooth from the beginning with Diego Arrieta setting us up with our chauffeur and trip within 30 minutes of arriving in Uyuni. We were going the skip the trip as we had a late bus to catch, but Diego reassured us that they would get us back on time, which we did, and we are forever grateful. We had the best guide in the world, Rober, who took outstanding photos, video, provided us with wine, a safe and smooth ride, and just a wonderful picture perfect experience overall.
