Zara Tours begeleidt treks de Marangu-route, die de gemakkelijkste en kortste route is naar de top van Kilimanjaro en die bekend staat als de "Coca Cola" of "toeristische" route. Dit is de enige route op Kilimanjaro met het comfort van slaaphutten op zonne-energie en comfortabele bedden in elk kamp. De hutten zijn gemeenschappelijk en elk stapelbed heeft een sponsmatras en kussen. Badkamers en stromend water zijn beschikbaar bij de twee onderste hutten. Basic latrines voor heren en dames zijn verkrijgbaar in het laatste kamp. Alle klimgroepen, vaak uit verschillende landen over de hele wereld, delen maaltijden in hutten voor een gemoedelijke en energieke sfeer. Frisdranken, flessenwater en bier zijn mogelijk te koop in de hutten. Neem kleine Tanzaniaanse rekeningen mee om deze items te kopen (prijzen stijgen met hoogte). Deze route wordt meestal in 5 dagen uitgevoerd, maar u kunt het in 6 dagen doen voor een betere acclimatisatie. Je kunt je extra dag doorbrengen rusten in Horombo of klimmen naar een basiskamp onder Kibo's sub piek Mawenzi.

Fantastikisl experience. The climb was tougher than expected but still fully feasible. The Zara Tours team was exceptional and absolutely crucial for us to reach the top.

My dad and I had an unforgettable time climbing the Marangu Route with Yohana and his team! The Marangu is a tough climb, but they provided relentless support and took excellent care of us. Even when the altitude got the better of us and we had to turn back for health reasons, Yohana ensured our descent was safe, steady, and comfortable. Highly recommend booking your Kilimanjaro climb with Yohana—you won’t regret it!
My experience with Zara Tours is beyond words. In 1999, a medical mistake led to the amputation of my leg and severe nerve damage. After 17 years in a wheelchair, I finally received a prosthetic in 2016. Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and in 2018, I was finally strong enough to try. Finding the right organization felt impossible, until I met Mama Zara (Zainab Ansell). She didn’t see “disability”, she saw strength. She believes disability is not inability, according to her we are not handicapped but handi”capables” and because of her, I found my confidence, my purpose, and my dignity again. She changed my life, and the lives of so many others. Since then, I’ve climbed Kilimanjaro six times with Zara, with incredible people facing their own challenges, amputees, blind individuals, people with MS, deaf, people with brain injuries, cancer survivors, and more.. It was a great adventure with a very cool team. All was perfect regarding food, luggage and the time up there. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and am really looking forward to come back another time.
