De familie Colonna is een van de oudste families in Rome en woont nog steeds in het prachtige Romeinse barokke paleis, een van de oudste en meest majestueuze privépaleizen in de hoofdstad. De kamers van Galleria Colonna herbergen de kunstwerken van de grote meesters van de late renaissance- en barokschilderkunst: van Tintoretto, Pinturicchio, Guido Reni, Bronzino, Guercino tot de picturale stijl van de trompe l'oeil. De grote Italiaanse bioscoop is ook in deze kamers gearriveerd, met de beroemde film "Roman Holiday", die talloze scènes bevat die in de Galleria Colonna zijn opgenomen. The homes interior and garden walks were excellent. Our guide Rebecca was fantastic and brought life to each room and area we visited. I would not hesitate to keep your Friday free for this and specifically ask for Rebecca to be your guide. My wife and I have travelled museums and private collections all over the world and this one is among the top.
Wonderful experience, beautiful place and full of history. Everything very organized and attentive local staff. Worth a visit!

During my visit to Rome, I had the opportunity to discover the Galleria Colonna, a little-known but truly unmissable wonder. Entering this splendid historic residence – still belonging to the Colonna family – was like crossing the threshold of time. Each room houses extraordinary works of art, sumptuous furnishings and breathtaking views. The famous Great Hall, in particular, left me breathless. Walking through those halls, immersed in the beauty of Roman Baroque, was a refined and surprising experience. I recommend it to anyone who wants to experience something authentic and off the beaten track.
It’s hard to imagine what lies in store for you beyond the walls of this Palazzo just off a street in the middle of Rome. You should be blown away.

We were very impressed by the tour, we got interesting background information and every question had an answer! All the highlights of the Vatican summarized in two hours. Our party of 3 had the pleasure of doing a private tour with Rebecca H. on Saturday, April 14, 2024. Rebecca has an extensive knowledge of the Palace and it’s amazing artworks. What a wonderful experience! We even had the unique pleasure of meeting the Prince himself, who happened to be walking the grounds. This tour is a remarkable opportunity, available only on Saturdays.
