A bit confusing but that might be me this is run by 2 different tour operators one on pier 33 the other on 39 only a short walk between the 2 to be fair. Overall very good Alcatraz very much self guided and the Bay cruise commentary is very informative and you see a couple of sides of the golden gate bridge close up that are hard to see from land.
We tried to change the date on the tour three days before it occurred due to a family emergency. The vendor would not allow it. We told them we could try again the following week but they said no and kept the payment. Terrible customer service
The tour guides were very friendly and helpful. We were given a lift up in the electric cart to the cell block

Excellent tour I learned history about Alcatraz I did not know. Boat ride was great, took many pictures. The views of the cities were fantastic!
Wonderful tour! The audio tour was clear and very detailed. The go at your own pace is a definite bonus! You have the ability to stay as long or as little as you like, the boats to take you back to San Francisco are available fairly quickly! It’s windy!! Bring a jacket! Make sure you allow plenty of time to walk through the garden and do a little bird watching!!
Very nice and great paced tour. The only thing that I would like to see is more information on the other inmates that were incarcerated, example: James "Whitey" Bulger and Clarence Carnes the youngest inmate on Alcatraz.
Very interesting history. Audio tour of the cell house was full of details that I never knew. The climb to cell house was strenuous but well worth it. A tram to the cell house was available for those that preferred not to climb.
Very interesting. My daughter and I really enjoyed the audio tour. It wasn’t too crowded and the weather was nice (March)
Booking in advance made it easier to plan and enjoy the tour. Can plan the day and arrange other activities easier
