Geniet van een overzicht van de beste bezienswaardigheden die Rome op één dag kan bieden. Uw Engels sprekende chauffeur haalt u op bij de haven en brengt u naar het hart van Rome, Venetië-plein, waar zich het Victor Emanuel-monument, genaamd "the Wedding Cake", bevindt. Vervolgens bezoekt u de overblijfselen van de oude grote geschiedenis van de stad: het Forum Romanum, het Colosseum, het Circus Maximus, de Capitol Hill, de Palatijnse heuvel en de Thermen van Caracalla. We keren terug naar het centrum van Rome om de beroemdste van alle oude stadstempels te bezoeken; het Pantheon. Loop door Piazza Navona, bekijk de Spaanse Trappen en de Trevifontein. We stoppen voor een traditionele Italiaanse lunch en winkelen. De stadstour gaat verder in de middag met een bezoek aan Vaticaanstad, de kleinste staat ter wereld, om het rijkste pakhuis van kunst ter wereld te verkennen: de Vaticaanse Musea, de Sixtijnse Kapel en de Sint-Pietersbasiliek. In de middag wordt u terug naar de pier gereden.

Geniet van een overzicht van het Circus Maximus, het eerste grootste stadion dat gebouwd werd in het oude Rome en paarden- en wagenrennen hield om het Romeinse publiek te vermaken. Met uitzicht op het, vind je de Palatijnse heuvel, waar volgens de Romeinse legendes, Romulus en Remus werden gevonden door de wolvin die ze ophief.
Rijd langs de beroemde bruidstaart, het monument gewijd aan de eerste koning van verenigd Italië: Victor Emanuel II, een prachtige neoklassieke witmarmerinterpretatie van het nabijgelegen Romeinse forum.
Gooi een munt in de Trevi-fontein voor geluk en een veilige terugkeer naar Rome, of gooi twee om liefde te vinden in Rome, zoals de legende gaat, en geniet van de schoonheid van het thema van "temmen van de wateren" dat de fontein presenteert.
Beklim de Spaanse Trappen zoals de beroemde acteurs aan het einde van de 20e eeuw deden, en loop door de Via Condotti, waar de belangrijkste designer bouitiques zich bevinden.
Bezoek de beroemdste van alle oude Romeinse tempels, het Pantheon, dat was gewijd aan vele Romeinse goden tot het de eerste rooms-katholieke kerk van alle tijden werd. Stap binnen en bewonder de prachtige marmeren vloeren, muren en plafond waar de Oculus centraal staat.
Wandel door een van de mooiste barokke pleinen ter wereld: het Navona-plein, waar u kunt genieten van de drie prachtige fonteinen van Bernini.
Bezoek het Vaticaan, de kleinste staat ter wereld, en verken het rijkste pakhuis van kunst ter wereld: de Vaticaanse Musea, de Sixtijnse Kapel en de Sint-Pietersbasiliek.

Absolutely amazing and flawless experience. Communication back and forth through email was clear, detailed and informative. We went back and forth perfecting our day. This is a must-do if you're traveling to Rome in the summer. It was 107° in the city and we were able to cover a lot of ground hopping in and out of an air conditioned vehicle. Our guide was amazing and extremely familiar with Roman history, pointing things out to us that we would have missed on our own.
We had a great day on our tour of Rome, our driver was fantastic and very knowledgeable and helped us see all the sites that were on our must list. He also recommended a really good place for lunch and I loved my pasta and my daughter says her lasagna was in the top 5 things she ate in Europe =) I would say the only snafu was we forgot we had to pay in cash so at the end of the tour we had to return to a cash machine, a reminder email about this would be helpful but it did not decrease our satisfaction of this excursion and we would recommend the tour and the company to friends/family.
After contacting Italy Private Excursions and connecting with Sarah, the whole adventure was amazing. Sarah was extremely patient as she outlined all of our choices, with pricing included. There were many emails exchanged and Sarah was quick to respond and clarify our questions/concerns Alex picked us up right outside our ship and drove us into Rome. Along the way he pointed out all kinds of things and was very engaging and informative. Once in Rome he managed to get use really close to the Trevi fountain in spite of it being marathon day (annual Rome Marathon day which takes place right in the heart of the city around the spots we wanted to see) As we chose the transportation only option Alex determined the best pick up location and time and after we had completed our self guided wander he was right where he told us he would be at the exact time. I found that amazing as once again it was Marathon day and the streets were packed with people. Great golf cart tour of Rome at night. Informative. Fun.
We didn't see everything that was on the list of sites to see but we did opt for a lunch break so that could be why. We did feel like we saw what we wanted to see and enjoyed all of it. The driver and the tour guide were very friendly and fluent in English. They made sure that we saw what we wanted to see and we were back to the ship in plenty of time.

From the drivers pick-up to our return to the ship everything far exceeded our expectations. Although this private tour was expensive the driver and the guide got us into and took us places we would never have been able to see. We were able to see things that we would never have been able to on a group tour and there were very personal touches from the quick stop at a small cafe on our way to Rome to the lunch arranged by our guide.

Excellent day with a great guide. Everything from pick up and drop off and in between was perfect. Private is the way to go and Stephan was awesome!
I had booked most of my excursions with the cruise ship and this was the only outside/private tour i had booked only because the ship's excursion for Ultimate Rome one was fully booked. Well, it was the best thing I did! Very easy to book, questions were answered immediately before the excursion, and the driver Alex was excellent (waited right outside our exit of the ship). Stress free, no excessive walking because driver knew how to get in and out of all stops quickly maneuvering around the narrow streets filled with people (quite fun experience).
Highly recommend. Sarah was very thoughtful and made the booking process sooo easy. We had an amazing day at Rome, our driver Nick was such a nice company, good with the kids and share so many interesting things about the city. The next day, we had a tour in Pisa/Florence and our driver Salvatore was also very nice. Cars were both great, everything very well organized and stress-free. Thank you.
