Beschrijving
Breng een idyllische rondleiding door de wereldberoemde botanische tuin van Rio de Janeiro, of Jardim Botânico. Tijdens deze rondleiding door het uitgestrekte biosfeerreservaat van de UNESCO, wandel je over de Avenue of the Royal Palms en wandel je langs bomen en planten van over de hele wereld, waaronder gigantische waterlelies uit de Amazone. Leer onderweg de geschiedenis van de tuin kennen en kijk naar dieren in het wild, zoals apen en toekans. Geniet vervolgens van de vrije tijd om op eigen gelegenheid door het terrein te dwalen voordat u terug naar Rio-hotels gaat.

De Botanische Tuin, opgericht in 1808 door koning John VI van Portugal, toont de diversiteit van de Braziliaanse en buitenlandse flora. Het 140 hectare grote park ligt aan de voet van de Corcovado-berg, ver onder de rechterarm van het standbeeld van Christus de Verlosser en bevat meer dan 6.000 verschillende soorten tropische en subtropische planten en bomen, waaronder 900 soorten palmbomen. De tuin herbergt ook monumenten van historische, artistieke en archeologische betekenis. De Botanische Tuin heeft een belangrijk onderzoeksinstituut, dat een breed scala aan botanische studies in Brazilië ontwikkelt.

Very nice, but certainly there are periods with better flowering, The orchids pavilion turned out a little disappointing (probably better at other times). Our guide, Tania, despite her age turned out to be surprisingly arzilla, nice and funny as well as very well prepared.
I cannot leave a review as this tour did not happen. After receiving a confirmation of the trip 48 hours before I waited for 40 mins outside my hotel. When nobody arrived I contacted the company running the trip and they told me that no-one else had booked so it wasn't running with absolutely no apology. No message to tell me though even though they had my money. I hope that I get a refund. I suggest Viator don't use this company.
The Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden is a real feeling. The diversity of trees and plants is simply unique. It is possible to sit for hours on the benches, in the shade of the trees, just watching and enjoying the environment. From the pau-brasil, the tree that gave the country its name, through medicinal plants, trees of all kinds, orchid cultivation, carnivorous plants, herbs and even the breeding of bees without straw, there is much more to discover. We will definitely be back.
We had an excellent tour of the garden with ChiChi who showed us lots of intresting things and explained the history of the park. We spent about 2 hours here and is seemed to go so fast! The orchid house is amazing
The experience was very bad, the guide very slow, with very little information, spoke regular Spanish and you could tell that he wanted the tour to end. The duration said 3 hours 30 and lasted 2 hours. I think it's too expensive for what they offer because apart you have to pay admission to the botanical park. I paid $196 for 4 and I wouldn't have paid more than 30. Really disappointed. PS: The place is wonderful, the Service extremely overrated
Awesome park to visit while visiting the area. Guide was very informative! Seen a bunch of wild monkeys close by. Highly recommended!
The guide didn't really speak Spanish and although it put a lot of interest it was very difficult to understand it and it's a shame because the place is wonderful and beautiful. The transfer was by Uber so in the end we could have done it for free since we have no advantage when doing it as an organized visit
