Oprichter Ledtour. Ervaar de thuisbasis van Maharani Gin en de enige Absinthe van Ierland, Rebel City Distillery, de eerste distilleerderij van de stad Cork in 50 jaar. Op slechts 15 minuten lopen van het stadscentrum. Rebel City, opgericht in 2020, is een ambachtelijke distilleerderij die de historische havengebieden van Cork nieuw leven inblaast. Gelegen in de oude Ford Car Factory, een monument in Cork dat al tientallen jaren sluimert, maakt de distilleerderij gebruik van de innovaties uit het verleden om de creaties van de toekomst te inspireren. Een samensmelting van twee creatieve culturen. Maharani Gin, onze eerste release, viert de wortels van onze oprichter, Cork, Ierland en Kerala, India, waar het echtpaar Robert en Bhagya vandaan komen. Maharani betekent koningin en is een eerbetoon aan sterke vrouwen overal ter wereld en een eerbetoon aan de biologische landbouwcoöperatie voor vrouwen in Kerala, India, waar plantaardige ingrediënten vandaan komen. Wij zijn ook makers van Ierlands enige Absint.

A brilliant experience at Rebel City Distillery. The tour was relaxed, informative and really enjoyable, and Bhagya was so friendly and knowledgeable. The spirits were excellent too. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Cork.
Great tour of the distillery by one of the founders! Our tour was led by Bhagya, wife and co-founder of the company. Bhagya in her own witty ways gave us good insight into the key components, sourcing, and distillery process of their wonderful Maharani Gin, Vodka, and Absinthe. She makes the ingredients of the flavors come alive throughout the tasting of their products. In addition she told us all about the challenges of starting a business while the entire world was forced to shut down. This is a tour you do not want to miss!

We visited for a tour on Friday, 29th May, 3 friends visiting Cork for the weekend. We had a fantastic time at Rebel City Distillery. The gin tasting experience was really personalised and made so much fun by the host, who was friendly, engaging, and full of energy throughout. It felt much more interactive and personal than a typical distillery tour, and you could really see the passion behind what they do. We had such a great laugh while also learning about the gin-making process and tasting some amazing spirits. Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cork — a brilliant way to spend an afternoon. We visited Blackrock Castle restaurant the next day for dinner and Maharani gin was on the menu. We look forward to your gin being available on Tesco in the future.

What a fantastic experience. I was so impressed with Rebel City. Their enthusiasm and love for their craft was infectious. The backstory, the set up, remarkable. Bhagya was amazing, she made everyone welcome and her knowledge was superb. Now let’s get to the gin, vodka, and absinthe. Well quite frankly gorgeous. I am an absinthe convert. As we are from the UK with no stored luggage so we couldn’t take the vodka and absinthe with us. However 2 bottles of gin were purchased dutifully at duty free. I will be purchasing more in the future from Amazon. However please can a national start stocking the vodka and absinthe. A campaign is surely required. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Best part of our trip to Cork.
