Ga op avontuur door de beroemdste regenboogberg, "de Vinicunca-berg", en verken het meest indrukwekkende natuurwonder in Cusco: - Verken de bergen van Vilcanota en ontdek de kleurrijke valleien, met sneeuw bedekte toppen en tonnen alpaca's. - Maak tijdens uw reis kennis met de lokale cultuur van de traditionele dorpen. - Reis met een professionele gids voor een uniek perspectief op de geschiedenis en culturele betekenis van Rainbow Mountain. De tocht heeft een matige moeilijkheidsgraad, daarom moet je volledig geacclimatiseerd zijn voordat je aan deze activiteit begint.

We halen je vroeg in de ochtend op bij je hotel in Cusco. Het duurt ongeveer 2,5 uur om vanuit Cusco naar Rainbow Mountain te komen. 30 minuten voordat we bij het startpunt van de trektocht aankomen, ontbijten we in een gezellig restaurant tussen de bergen.
Voordat we aan de trektocht beginnen, zullen onze gidsen enkele handige tips geven zodat je veilig naar de top van de berg kunt wandelen. De wandeling begint op 4.800 meter boven zeeniveau, daarom moeten we het rustig en langzaam doen. Eenmaal op de top van de berg, realiseer je je dat al dat harde werk zijn vruchten heeft afgeworpen! Onze gidsen zullen de oorsprong van de berg uitleggen en zullen je wat vrije tijd geven zodat je dit natuurwonder ten volle kunt waarderen.
Na een hele dag vol avontuur is het nu tijd voor een welverdiende lunch. Het duurt ongeveer 1,5 uur om terug naar de parkeerplaats te wandelen. We hebben een restaurant uitgezocht waar je het beste van de Peruaanse keuken kunt proeven. Als we klaar zijn met alle activiteiten, keren we terug naar Cusco. De drop-off vindt plaats bij uw accommodatie.

It was a really good tour that I would highly recommend. They provide food before and after the hike which is really good cause you have to wake up early and then feel exhausted and hungry after the hike. The guide even provided us with walking sticks, which helped a lot. He offered to take pictures of two of us. However, the tour advertised that we will be picked up from our hotel, which didn't happen in our case. Although our hotel wasn't accessible by car, they could've chosen a closer pick-up location at least. Another slight issue was although we were given a meet-up spot, it was a huge square and we had to message the organisers for some time before they got back to us saying they'll be there in 2 mins, which was later than agreed.
Excellent guide, the vehicle was new. Overall very good.

It is a long 3+ hours trip from Cusco but once you get to the top of the mountain the views are awesome. I would highly recommend paying for a horse unless you’re under 30 and very fit. The altitude affect is significant

This is a must see even during rainy season! The coordination of transfers was seamless, there were horses for those who didn’t want to make the entire hike up and/or down, and the guide and driver took great care of us. The meals were also wonderful.
Ernesto made me feel welcome from the beginning. He was concerned for me during the trek and checked in with me several times. I appreciated his concern and professionalism. Our driver William was kind and very skilled. He was the first to greet me when I made it down the mountain!

Professor Roberto was extremely competent in teaching us about the general culture of the Incas, about the Andean region and about the Quechua language, in addition to being very friendly. The tour was great, very fun and the beautiful landscapes.
