Quilotoa Lagoon is een prachtige plek in Ecuador die je moet bezoeken. Het landschap is geweldig. De caldera werd gevormd door de instorting van een vulkaan na een catastrofale uitbarsting ongeveer 600 jaar geleden. We kunnen gaan wandelen, kayac doen en per ezel terugkeren, het is een geweldige ervaring.

Quito, een hoofdstad hoog in de Andes, is dramatisch gelegen, geperst tussen bergtoppen waarvan het groen wordt verborgen door de middagnevel. Moderne appartementsgebouwen en bescheiden betonnen huizen kruipen halverwege de hellingen, en drukke commerciële doorgangen vol met winkels en vol met verkeer veranderen op zondag in rustige buurten. Wanneer je stopt voor deze berg, aan je rechterkant is het noorden, je linkerkant is het zuiden, Quito is 64 km lang en 4 km inch, beginnend bij deze actieve vulkaan.
Plaats mensen gebruiken om te rusten, te eten. Quechua-naam Tambo. dit is een kleine, genaamd Tambillo
We gaan een aantal belangrijke wijken van Quito bekijken, terwijl we de stad verlaten, ook het contrast tussen het noorden en het zuiden van de stad, dan kunnen we zien hoe Cordillera de Los Andes zich in twee lijnen verdeelt, en de belangrijkste bergen en sneeuwgewassen zullen op de weg verschijnen om ons een geweldig uitzicht te tonen, bijvoorbeeld Pichincha, Atacazo, Corazon, Ilinizas, Cayambe, Antisana, Sincholagua, Rumiñahui en Cotopaxi. Als je geen ontbijt hebt gehad, kunnen we stoppen voor een maaltijd, het kan in Tambillo of Machachi zijn. Vervolg onze reis, de bergen komen dichterbij en we gaan wat stops maken voor je foto's YEIH .. Ga door naar de provincie Cotopaxi en steek het Nationaal Park over via de Panamerican Highway naar Pujili.
Deze kleine stad is beroemd om schilderijen die inheems doen met lamsvel en maskers van hout. het meest dat je leuk vindt, vraag om een betere prijs.
Er is een inheemse stad die de stad Latacunga oversteekt naar La Mana. Hier kunnen we een aantal plaatsen vinden om te stoppen en maïs, beens, plantains of gebakken varkensvlees te proberen. Doorgaan naar de rigth in 20 minuten gaan we Quilotoa Lagoon arriveren.
Quilotoa is een met water gevulde caldera en de meest westelijke vulkaan in de Ecuadoriaanse Andes.

We had the opportunity to visit Quilotoa Lake! The cherry on the cake of the trip. We had the opportunity to visit local craft shops and the food was delicious here. Do not miss the opportunity and take this trip, you'll thank me later.

We had an amazing time going to Quilotoa with Felipe. It was just our family of 4 and him on a private tour. We got started early and he took us to a great breakfast place on the way. We also stopped to see some of the artwork of the indigenous people. It was quite stunning. Felipe had been recommending Quilotoa to us, and it was breathtaking. We walked down to the lake (bring good walking shoes) and rode horses back up. There are lots of photo ops on the way. Afterwards, we stopped at a local place for a nice lunch. On the way back to the hotel, Felipe kept showing us different attractions that he didn’t want us to miss. He is quite generous with his time and very passionate about Quito. Even though the ride was about three hours in each direction, it definitely didn’t feel that long and I would highly recommend going to see the crater with Felipe. We also visited the Middle of the Earth with him on a different day, and he was our airport transportation as well. I highly recommend Felipe for all of your transportation and tour needs in Quito.
The tour was great! Felipe picked us up in the morning and took us for a very nice breakfast. We continued towards Quilotoa via Tigua and on the the way Felipe explained both the area's culture and history as well as the vegetation and geography to us. He pointed out interesting sites and in general was giving us interesting information during the entire drive (but made sure to pause when one of us had fallen asleep!). He also gave us good tips for the remainder of our stay in Quito. He also balanced the time spent having ab ice cream or lunch with more strenuous activities.
The panoramic view of the lagoon is amazing. A tip for future travelers is to wear light but warm clothes. The guide knows the place very well and perfect places fot photos, also, the guide manages groups with children very well and he knows strategic sites for meal.
Take this tour to Lake Quilotoa, it was an exceptional experience, the guide had a lot of experience, the very quiet trip and the excellent food there was a lot of variety, I knew spectacular places. I totally recommend this trip with Felipe as a guide.
Excelent sightseeing of the lagoon with great explanations, comfortable and safe travel from Quito. Totally recommended.
