Stop door voor Boodschappen, water en voedsel in te pakken en te brengen naar het Nationaal Park.
We zullen aankomen bij de noordelijke poort van het Cotopaxi nationaal park tussen 9 : 15 tot 9 : 30 uur ongeveer na het rijden langs de Avenue of the Volcanoes
Paardrijden zal de eerste activiteit langs deze dag zijn voor ongeveer oke uur / enige paardrijtocht binnen het nationale park.
We rijden na de paardrijtocht ongeveer 35 minuten van 4000 meter tot 4550 meter om het wandelgedeelte van de dag te beginnen.
We beginnen de wandeling naar Basecamp objectief 4900 meter (16000 voet) voor ongeveer 1 uur om aan te komen bij Refugio José Rivas. Waar we kunnen eten en drankjes kunnen krijgen.
We blijven hier en genieten van de Basecamp sfeer en dalen dan af naar parkeerplaats om terug te keren
We zullen de nationale verlaten via de zuidpoort / toeristische kant. Ongeveer 3 uur terug vanaf parkeerplaats op de vulkaan

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Ophaaltijd tussen 7 : 00 tot 7 : 30 uur, afhankelijk van uw locatie in de belangrijkste stad van Quito. Deze info wordt de dag ervoor om 19.00 uur bevestigd zodra we het definitieve aantal deelnemerslocaties weten. Als u zich buiten de pick-up gebieden zoals : Cumbaya, Pifo, Tumbaco, Puembo, Sangolquí of Tababela (luchthaven gebieden) bevinden kunnen we regelen pick-up en drop off voor extra kosten of we kunnen een plek voor u regelen om ons te ontmoeten met Uber.

Horse riding was fun and it did feel “wild”, but very little guidance, however still accessible even if you haven’t done any riding. The walk up to base camp isn’t too exhausting if you are fit, however make sure to acclimatise a little

A great experience from start to finish, our guide was friendly knowledgeable and attentive, the horse riding was awesome, we really enjoyed riding around the national park on the local horses and the mountain hike was as described, not touristy! We felt like we almost had the place to ourselves. Definitely recommend those wanting to see the higher side of Ecuador and visit Cotopaxi Volcano.

Just a fantastic day from start to finish. Dario was a great guide and very knowledgeable. We were given clear instructions on what to take and where to meet. Horse riding was just fabulous. Little hiccup when the weather closed in and we decided not to finish the walk up the volcano but Dario took straight down to the most beautiful lake where we had a lovely walk and saw lots of birds. Really great tour. Had a great time horseback riding around the park with the beautiful scenery. The hike up to the base camp is tough but you are able to take it slow. I recommend hiking shoes as the routes are sandy and gravely. Fatima and Dario were excellent tour guides. Highly recommend!
