Onze kleine groepstour met volledige begeleiding neemt je mee naar het pittoreske Lake Wānaka en Lake Hāwea, over de prachtige Haast Pass en langs de prachtige stranden aan de westkust naar Franz Josef. Deze tour, geleid door onze gepassioneerde gidsen, gaat verder dan de bestemmingen en biedt geheime stops, wildlife-spottings en heerlijke verrassingen onderweg. Het Cardrona Hotel, gelegen aan de spectaculaire Crown Range Road tussen Queenstown en Wānaka, is een van de oudste en meest iconische hotels van Nieuw-Zeeland. De rustieke charme, de spectaculaire bergomgeving en de rijke geschiedenis maken het tot een must-see in Central Otago.
We wandelen naar de oever van het meer voor die iconische foto van de Wānaka-boom. Geniet van de schoonheid van dit uitgestrekte meer, met op de achtergrond de Mount Aspiring en de Zuidelijke Alpen: een paradijs voor fotografen.
We steken de machtige Clutha-rivier over en rijden westwaarts langs het prachtige Lake Hāwea. We stoppen voor een snelle foto op een uitkijkpunt tussen Lake Wānaka en Lake Hāwea.
De toepasselijk genaamde Blue Pools, gelegen in het Mt Aspiring National Park, zijn een must-see. Deze gemakkelijke rondrit van 3 km is zeker de moeite waard om getuige te zijn van het adembenemende blauwe water van de Makarora-rivier.
Een gemakkelijke wandeling van 5 minuten zal u belonen met een spectaculair uitzicht op Thunder Creek Falls. Deze 28 meter hoge waterval, een overblijfsel van een ooit grote gletsjer, stroomt uit een hangende vallei.
Terwijl we noordwaarts rijden langs de grens waar oud regenwoud de oceaan ontmoet, stoppen we bij Ship Creek. Graaf je tenen in het zand en voel de meedogenloze golven van de Tasmanzee. Verken de duinen via een gemakkelijk wandelpad van 1 km.
Hier ontmoet het dikke inheemse regenwoud de schijnbaar eindeloze open oceaan. Bruce Bay toont echt het beste van de westkust!
We gaan verder naar de droom van elke fotograaf: Lake Matheson. Op een rustige dag kunt u Mt Cook vastleggen, elegant weerspiegeld in dit pittoreske meer. Deze gemakkelijke wandeling beloont u met adembenemende uitzichten op de Zuidelijke Alpen.

*Als er geen pick-up is geselecteerd op het moment van boeking, krijgt u ons standaard ontmoetingspunt toegewezen. U bent van harte welkom om dit op elk moment te updaten. Als uw locatie er niet bij staat, kies dan uw dichtstbijzijnde beschikbare optie en ontmoet ons daar. *Pick-ups kunnen beginnen tot 20 minuten voor de tour vertrektijd, afhankelijk van de locatie. Om een vlotte start te garanderen, gelieve buiten 5 minuten voor uw specifieke ophaaltijd klaar te staan en te wachten. *Pick-up locaties zijn zorgvuldig gepland voor elke tour en kan variëren per dag. Als uw ophaallocatie verandert, verzoeken wij u dit vooraf aan ons door te geven. *Onze gidsen maken meerdere stops en kunnen binnen een tijdsbestek van 10 minuten aankomen. We kunnen niet wachten op late gasten.

This tour was fabulous, thanks to a great guide, Hanna. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, personable and cheerful. Everything you could want in a tour guide and more. She went above and beyond to inform us all about the history and relevance of every stop of the tour, as well as most of what we were driving past. Our 12 hour tour, from Queenstown to Franz Josef, went by in a flash and we even managed around 16000 steps at the various stops along the way. Plenty of comfort stops, a great lunch at the Hard Antler, in Haast, just added to the value of this tour. Thanks Hanna, and Cheeky Kiwi.. it was a great day.

It was amazing! The nature was impressive even in a rain. The car was comfortable and I really feel myself good with our guide Hannah who was very smart and passionate with her work. She was really interested in telling and sharing with us more about Nzee's animals and plants, nature and it all. I really liked Cheeky kiwi company and will recommended it to all.
We were just 2 people so it was basically a private tour and it was awesome! Udi came with us on the walks pointed out different plants and showed us cool things such as blue mushrooms. He also told us a lot about New Zealand’s history and culture and I could fire away all my questions. The scenery was just gorgeous and we saw some breathtaking places. My personal favorite was our walk at Ship Creek and generally crossing the Alps and entering this lush and dense vegetation! To sum it up: I saw beautiful places, I learned a lot about New Zealand, and we had a lot of laughs on the trip :)
Martin was knowledgeable and he took us to plenty of places. Lunch is included and it’s a good value for money as we stopped by plenty of places. The fee for this tour is only a hundred dollars more than the intercity bus but you get to see places that you wouldn’t normally see. We were lucky to have a good weather and had a glimpse of the glacier in Fox Glove

Hanna was a wonderfully enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and personable guide for our day trip to Franz Joseph! She expertly paced our day so we could take in all the dynamic and stunning sights along the way: lakes, mountains, forests, beaches, waterfalls, and glaciers! Hanna did this all while safely driving and traversing the roads. Fantastic, intimate tour taking in lots of incredible sights on the road between Queenstown and Franz Josef. Colin was a wonderful guide, the lunch was spot on at Hard Antler in Haast (I can recommend the venison burger) and the complimentary WiFi on the minibus was a nice touch. Cheeky Kiwi Travel really do offer a more personalised experience than most and utilising smaller transport means they can get to places the larger buses can’t access. Also, do not pass on the freshly-baked cheese scones at the Cardrona Hotel for breakfast!
