Million Dollar Cruise is een 90 minuten durende reis over Lake Wakatipu, met ononderbroken uitzicht op de Remarkables, verborgen baaien en historische huizen - allemaal met live commentaar van een lokale bemanning die echt houdt van wat ze doen. Met kleinere groepen, een ontspannen tempo en een bar met volledige vergunning aan boord is het de perfecte mix van comfort, landschap en verhaal. Reis op Queenstown's Lake - Lake Wakatipu voor de hele reis tot het einde van het meer en terug.
De reis begint in Queenstown Bay, terwijl je uitvaart, passeer je Queenstown Gardens en zie je Queenstown Central langs de kustlijn.
Vervolgens krijgt u de prachtige golfbaan van Queenstown te zien, die direct op het schiereiland Kelvin Heights ligt en uitkijkt over het prachtige Lake Wakatipu. Hun kusten zijn een gemeenschappelijke plek voor de lokale bevolking om te gaan varen en zwemmen. Je gaat dan door de 90% kalme wateren en bekijkt de huizen van een miljoen dollar langs de kustlijn.
Terwijl je langs wilgeneilanden vaart en lokale vogels ziet, banen we ons een weg naar beneden naar de historische Kawarau Falls Dam die het begin van de beroemde Kawarau-rivier markeert.

We banen ons vervolgens een weg langs de tegenoverliggende kustlijn waar je de Frankton Arm-kustlijn kunt zien, waar de lokale bevolking vaak komt om te genieten van het water in de zomer en dan terug langs de Frankton Arm Trail die ons veilig terugbrengt naar Queenstown Bay.

We enjoyed it so much. The crew is fantastic; the hostesses are super nice and very friendly, as is the skipper, with informative commentary and good humor. Definitely, the lads enjoyed playing captain during the final part of the tour. There are blankets onboards, so grab one once on board, esp if staying on top of the boat. As it is winter. It takes around 90 minutes, and the tour is limited to one part of the lake. I believe it has to be, as the lake is huge! Besides, there might be a specific path for each tour, I reckon. The best part was that it was not crowded! So plenty of space; one could move around comfortably and change views with ease. Good value for money; I would definitely recommend it!
Quiet and very pleasant cruise. Well-equipped and relatively small boat, which avoids the crowds. The explanations given during the trip are interesting.

We had a great afternoon cruising around the lake! The experience was very informative, the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful, and the pricing was great. The kids especially loved getting a turn in the captain’s chair — definitely a highlight for them! A fantastic experience all round and something we’d happily do again. Highly recommend!

We took 2 cruises when we arrived in Queenstown NSW. Million dollar cruise is a shorter trip in the harbour but we learned a lot about history and Queenstown If you are someone who want to relax and learn about the place you visit this is highly recommended. It was happy and fun trip. The captain will stop to allow you to take a million dollar photo with the beautiful mountain as the backdrop. That alone is worth something.

We booked the Million Dollar Cruise in Queenstown for a family outing and it exceeded expectations. The host was brilliant — genuinely entertaining, full of local stories and history about the lake and the old steamships, and great with the kids the whole trip. They even had toys on board to keep the little ones occupied, which was a lovely touch we weren’t expecting. The views out over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables were stunning, and the boat felt comfortable and well looked after. The onboard bar was reasonably priced too, which made it easy to relax with a drink while the kids played. Would happily recommend this to any family visiting Queenstown — a great mix of scenery, history, and genuine hospitality. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Five stars all round!
