Dit is geen doorsnee foodtour – het is een reis door het eilanddistrict van Qatar, van de luxueuze charme van de diverse districten van The Pearl tot de levendige energie van Gewan Island, begeleid door iemand die deze wijken door en door kent. Een van de weinige tours in Doha persoonlijk georganiseerd door een levenslange inwoner – geen generieke scripts, alleen echte verhalen en echte gastvrijheid. Je proeft niet alleen eten – je verkent pastelkleurige grachten, wandelt over strandpromenades en geniet van hapjes die je nooit zou vinden zonder insider-inzicht. Met stops afgestemd op het seizoen, is de route zorgvuldig samengesteld voor comfort, smaak en ontdekking. In de zomer verminderen we het lopen en gebruiken we A / C-vervoer; in koelere maanden brengt u meer tijd buiten door met genieten van het uitzicht. Geniet van Karak-thee bij de jachthaven, proef authentiek straatvoedsel uit het Midden-Oosten en eindig uw ervaring met Arabische koffie en een schilderachtige boottocht door de met eilanden omzoomde jachthaven van The Pearl. Reisroute
Begin uw ervaring bij het metrostation Legtaifiya, waar uw vriendelijke lokale gids op u wacht om u te verwelkomen. Van daaruit reist u samen naar The Pearl-Qatar in comfortabel A / C-vervoer. Deze schilderachtige rit zet de toon voor uw meeslepende avond in het verschiet - gevuld met smaken, verhalen en verborgen juweeltjes in een van de meest pittoreske wijken aan het water van de stad.
Na een korte rit kom je aan in Qanat Quartier, een charmant gebied vol kleurrijke grachten en Europees geïnspireerde architectuur – de perfecte achtergrond voor je eerste lokale proeverij, een heerlijke shoarma.
Vervolgens gaan we verder naar Viva Bahriya, een rustige wijk aan het strand die bekend staat om zijn gouden zand en ontspannen sfeer. Hier heb je tijd om te genieten van het landschap en prachtige foto's te maken.
Van daaruit gaan we naar Porto Arabia, de elegante promenade aan het water, waar u kunt genieten van traditionele Karak-thee en kunt genieten van een warme kaaschapati met uitzicht op de jachthaven.
De tour verhuist vervolgens naar Medina Centrale, het hart van het lokale leven in The Pearl. Je proeft rokerige Perzische kebabs, zoete, kleverige Kunafa en eindigt met een rijk kopje Arabische koffie.
Bij Crystal Walk op Gewan Island ontspannen we met traditionele Arabische koffie in een lokaal café voordat we aan boord gaan van een boot naar Qanat Quartier. We varen door de charmante grachten en keren dan terug naar Gewan over het water.

Emad is a great guide. Very good casual food. Large portions. Boat is very nice. The ride is comfortable, to see the lights of the city.

Emad was an incredible tour guide and showed us around the entire Pearl Island with some incredible food as well - we were so full at the end. The boat tour of the islands at night was incredible as well. It’s a small group tour to keep things intimate - it is well worth the price and the length of the tour is perfect as well!

Emad was our tour guide and he was simply amazing. The tastings were amazing and we had a great time. The tour was thorough, insightful and we learned a lot. He made room For questions, we shared jokes and had great conversations. He was very relatable and knowledgeable. He took his time with the tour to make sure we got the best experience. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable young guide (whose name escapes me). Took us to the modern sights of Doha. More of a tour of Pearl Island with tasty traditional snacks along the way completed by a relaxing electric boat tour of the central marina area. Spectacular lighting at the end of the tour on the extremely modern buildings along with a commentary about Doha daily life. Clean, tidy air cond. car and pick up from our hotel. A great way to see some of Doha, be fed and while away an afternoon/evening.

What a wonderful 5 hours we had with Imad. I searched hard to find a unique food & sightseeing tour and this did not disappoint. Imad was both friendly and knowledgeable and we learnt so much from him, The food stops were also great - would have loved more food history (maybe because I'm a foodie and also a food tour guide in my home city) but we had no complaints. It was a wonderful few hours and we highly recommend.

Out of the 7 food and drinks we got to sample we really only enjoyed 3 of them which is completely subjective. There was a lot more driving that I expected but the real downside for me was the tour guide constantly being on his phone either texting or on calls most of time he was driving us which is not only unprofessional but completely unsafe. He was also continuously lighting up to smoke during our tour which is again highly unprofessional and completely concerning for those of us with medical concerns like asthma that can’t handle being around smokers. The last stop for us was Arabic coffee which is not something I want to be drinking at almost 9pm so I didn’t partake. The boat ride was a nice feature but overall I can’t recommend both from a professional standpoint point and the fact it’s highly overpriced for what you get. Uber is so cheap in Doha just venture out for kebabs, Karak tea and Karen on your own and save a ton of money.

Had a 2 days stop over at Doha an did this food tour - would highly recommend it. Had a wonderful time with Emad. The food option’s were good - loved the shawarma the most. They were very thoughtful and made adjustment to my dietary preferences (only chicken). This tour had best of both worlds- walking across Perl and Jewan island as we explored our food joints and then boat ride with an up close view of the yatchs 🤩. The only change I would make it pick a 4pm slot instead of an 11am which made it super hot in the afternoon.
