MOOIE EN PLEZIERIGE WANDELTOCHT OM DE CHARMANTE BUURT VAN BORDEAUX TE ONTDEKKEN MET ONZE IN-HOUSE SOMMELIER MET WIJN- EN KAASPROEVEN. Deze tour is ontworpen door onze interne sommelier en wijnexpert. Hij neemt je mee op een wandeling door de wijnhandelsstraten van UNESCO, waarvan er vele 300 jaar oud zijn. We zullen bijna een uur wandelen om de buurt van Chartrons en de rivieroever van Bordeaux te ontdekken, terwijl we leren over de verschillende druivensoorten die in Bordeaux worden gebruikt, de belangrijke wijnregio's, hoe je een fles kunt ophalen in een supermarkt of in een restaurant, wat is de classificatie van 1855, hoe je een etiket leest als een professional, de historische monumenten van de wijk en nog veel meer! Aan het einde van de tour zullen we alle theoretische kennis omzetten in praktisch "leren door te proeven"… Proost!! We beginnen onze tour in het hart van Chartrons, ook wel bekend als Old Wine Merchant Street. Gelegen aan de "Port de la lune" (de Franse naam voor Port of Moon), ook een koosnaampje van Bordeaux daterend uit de 17e eeuw. Tegenwoordig zijn ze allemaal Wereld Unesco-erfgoed.
Geniet van het prachtige uitzicht op de rivier de Garonne en leer meer over de haven- en wijnhandel.
Terwijl u aan de rivierkant staat, ziet u van afstand een van de oudste bruggen van Bordeaux, "Pont de Pierre", gebouwd voor Napoleon Bonaparte en daterend uit het begin van de 19e eeuw. We zullen het verband tussen wijn en koningen leren. Houd er rekening mee dat het monument niet van dichtbij bezocht kan worden.
Kijkend naar het noorden van Bordeaux kunnen we van een afstand nog een belangrijke brug zien. Je zult verrast zijn om de verbazingwekkende technologie te kennen die achter deze geweldig uitziende brug is gebruikt. Hier zullen we ook leren over nieuwe technologieën die worden gebruikt bij het maken van wijnen. Houd er rekening mee dat het monument niet van dichtbij bezocht kan worden.
Een van de meest iconische kerken in Bordeaux. Je zult de schoonheid van de kerk zien en de geschiedenis erachter leren kennen.
We zullen ook het grootste wijnexpositiemuseum ter wereld kunnen zien stroomopwaarts aan de rivier in het noorden. Hier leert u over de wijngebieden en druivensoorten terwijl u op afstand de schoonheid van het 21e-eeuwse museum bewondert. Houd er rekening mee dat het monument niet van dichtbij bezocht kan worden.
We zullen een "Maisons Jumelles" tweelinghuis in het Engels zien. Ooit geleefd door een buitenlandse wijnhandelaar. Het belang van buitenlanders in de wijnhandel van Bordeaux.
Wees voorbereid op een blinde wijnproeverij, dit is het moment om je zintuigen te openen en te beginnen met het snuiven en nippen van de heerlijke wijnen van Bordeaux, gecombineerd met verschillende soorten kaas en stokbrood. Je gids zal je deze ervaring in een lokale wijnbar uitleggen en begeleiden.

We were lucky enough to be the only participants with our three group and therefore get an exclusive tour. The small tour of the neighborhood was very informative. Our guide Adrian was very nice and open-minded. Since the weather was quite rainy, the tour was quite close and we are quickly to the wine bar. There Adrian told us a lot about the Bordeaux wines and there were 4 wines (2x red, 2x white) tasted. For us it was just in the right detail and we enjoyed the tour.

I love Viator as you get to meet such lovely and knowledgeable experts like Adrian. We spent a good half hour touring the old part of Bordeaux and then around an hour tasting wine, while Adrian explain the finer points of the region, the grapes, how to match wine with food. Thoroughly recommend the tour, lovely guide, took the time to answer our questions fully and point out places we should visit. 👍🏻🍷
Enjoyed our walking tour with Pascale and discovered some lovely streets/areas we might not otherwise have visited. The wine & cheese tasting was delicious - so much so that we went back the next night for dinner! He is very knowledgeable on the history of Bordeaux, and as a sommelier, he took us on a wonderful walk while explaining the wine regions, the grapes grown in this region, and much more. We took a day trip from Paris to Bordeaux for the Wine and Cheese Tasting walking tour, and we were so glad we did! We met Ani several minutes early at the designated meeting point and went from there. Ani is very knowledgeable on the history of Bordeaux, mixing tales of the past with the history and science of wine, doing it all with a fantastic sense of humor!
