Bent u in Catania, of komt u van een cruise naar de terminal, dan kunt u bij ons een dag van 5 - 6 uur doorbrengen, voor een onvergetelijke excursie! Chauffeur haalt u op de door u aangegeven plaats op, ook als deze niet op de ophaallijst staat. Richting Savoca ongeveer 1 uur, beroemde stad gekozen door regisseur Francis Ford Coppola om enkele scènes op te nemen van de beroemde Oscar-winnende film The Godfather. Stop bij de Vitelli-bar voor een foto en een rondleiding door het kleine, schilderachtige stadje. We gaan verder naar Taormina, een charmant stadje dat de parel van de Middellandse Zee wordt genoemd, met zijn unieke Grieks-Romeinse theater, (entree niet inbegrepen), de karakteristieke steegjes, versierd met souvenirs, bars en typisch Siciliaanse clubs. De tour begint met ophalen bij uw hotel of bij de cruiseterminal van de haven van Catania. We bieden zowel auto's als minibusjes, afhankelijk van het verzoek en het aantal deelnemers. De volgende tour moet als privé worden beschouwd. Vanuit Catania vertrekken we naar Taormina (ongeveer 50 km), we bezoeken zelfstandig het Griekse theater, te voet gaan we verder naar Palazzo Corvaja, de belvedère, Corso Umberto met zijn karakteristieke straatjes vol typische winkels en souvenirs. De tour gaat verder naar Savoca, ongeveer 20 km, een klein hooggelegen dorp, waar enkele scènes uit de film "the peetvader" van Francis Ford Coppola zijn opgenomen. In deze tour heb je op verzoek van de klant de mogelijkheid om Castelmola, een middeleeuws stadje boven Taormina, te bezoeken in plaats van Savoca.
Savoca is een land van duizend bezienswaardigheden, ook al is het in werkelijkheid een klein dorpje in de provincie Messina met 1750 inwoners. Het ligt op de berg, maar biedt ook veel aan toeristen die het bezoeken. Het wordt omringd door de stromen van Agrò en Savoca en is een kunststad die deel uitmaakt van het circuit van "De mooiste dorpen van Italië". In dit dorp werden scènes opgenomen "the Godfather", de succesvolle film van Francis Ford Coppola, opgenomen in 1972. Een terugkeer naar het verleden, naar een stad met weinig auto's en weinig chaos, naar de oude gebouwen van het tijdperk in lavasteen, omringd door citrusboomgaarden, wijngaarden en olijfboomgaarden. I have been using viator for years and I have never had an experience like this. Every other tour I have ever done has been amazing and perfect in so many ways EXCEPT this one. Do not and I repeat, DO NOT book this tour. We were scheduled to be picked up in the morning and no one showed up. We tried contacting the tour operator and no response (very unprofessional). I contacted support at viator and they tried calling, emailing and messaging the tour operators multiple times and NO RESPONSE. If you're looking for a tour you can rely on this is not the tour for you.
Good morning, we have already apologized through Viator, but your reservation never arrived, so if you have someone to blame, blame Viator, not us. If you had called a couple of days in advance or sent a WhatsApp or a confirmation email since you had our contact information, we could have helped you. Technology is good for the community, but a confirmation message would have been better. We have cecked mobile and office phone , no contact from you or viator . we receive just an e mail on 30 december at 9.30 AM with refund request

Taormina and Savoca was spectacular. Very beautiful and a lot of restaurants and stores to visit in Taormina and a very incredible Greek theater from old times. The guide was very good and explain in detail the highlights of what we were visiting.

Salvo was the most amazing tour guide, he taught us so much information about the region and in particular Mt Etna. He also recommended the most amazing seafood lunch destination in Taormina which had both excellent food and postcard views. The town & walk around tour of Savoca where part of the godfather was filmed was also a highlight & a place we would love to visit again.
