HBO-serie Tsjernobyl werd gefilmd in een van de slaapvertrekken in Vilnius - Fabijoniškės. Tijdens de tour bezoekt u Fabijoniskes en andere filmlocaties en leert u over het Sovjetleven en de ramp in Tsjernobyl. De stad Pripyat (‘vreedzaam atoom’), gebouwd in de late jaren zestig om de fabriek te bedienen, werd gedurende enkele decennia gebouwd als het symbool van een vriendschap tussen de Sovjetlanden. Tegen die tijd hadden de meeste Sovjetrepublieken hun stadsdelen gebouwd. Dat is de reden waarom de serie werd opgenomen in Fabijoniskes, een kwartier van Vilnius, dat als voorbeeld diende voor Pripyat. Een van de meest bezochte musea in Litouwen is een echte KGB-gevangenis en heeft nog steeds zijn KGB-cellen en martelkamers intact. De originele meubels waar gevangenen werden vastgehouden, werden gebruikt bij het fotograferen van de serie. We eindigen onze tour in het KGB-gebouw, zodat u deze zelf kunt bezoeken.

Domas our guide was great, picked us up on time, nice vehicle and safe driver. He is very knowledgeable about the filming of the Chernobyl tv show, but also Lithuanian history. We learned so much. He also accompanied us for part of or visit to the Museum of Occupation and Freedom, this was such a bonus as it put many of the exhibits into perspective. A great tour and worth every penny

WOW! What an experience! My wife and I booked two private tours which included a tour to Trakai Castle and separate and apart, transportation from Vilnius, Lithuania to Riga, Latvia with stops at Hill of the Crosses and Rundale Palace. For those of you who plant to travel to the Baltics, I strongly recommend including these two UNESCO World Heritage sites.
