Nadat je bent opgehaald bij je hotel, word je naar een lokaal hotpot-restaurant gebracht om te genieten van smakelijke Sichuanese gerechten in het gezelschap van nieuwe vrienden. Hot pot is gewoon een andere bekende verrukkelijke Sichuan-keuken. In het midden van je tafel staat een sudderende metalen pot met bouillon (pittig of niet-pittig), die wacht op je om de ingrediënten naar keuze erin te gooien: verschillende soorten vlees, groenten, zeevruchten en meer. Het hotpot-diner is een sociale ervaring - praat met je buren terwijl je je verrukkelijke pot soep maakt!
Het is alsof je magie voor je ogen ziet gebeuren! Dit is wat je zult denken tijdens het kijken naar de Sichuan Opera, een prachtige weergave van de Sichuan-cultuur en kunst. Tijdens je avondje uit in Chengdu ontvang je een prachtig overzicht van de gewoonten van Sichuan, waarbij een heerlijke Sichuan-maaltijd wordt gecombineerd met een ontzagwekkende weergave van visuele kunst. Ga lekker zitten en geniet van een voorstelling boordevol humor, humor, levendige dialoog, geweldige acrobatiek, dans, acteren, poppenspel en muziek, die allemaal de creatieve geschiedenis van Sichuan in de podiumkunsten en beeldende kunst vieren. De meeste acts zijn afgeleid van Chinese klassieke romans, legendes en volksverhalen. Het beschikt over oogverblindende sets en kostuums en staat bekend om twee verschillende acts: Changing Faces en Rolling Light. Rolling Light houdt in dat een artiest verschillende routines uitvoert, zoals springen over een bank of dansen met een ventilator, terwijl hij een kom balanceert die verlicht is met vuur op zijn hoofd! Het veranderen van gezichten, misschien wel de meest populaire act, omvat snelle make-upveranderingen op het podium, terwijl de acteur andere spannende prestaties uitvoert. De meest gecompliceerde routine vereist dat de uitvoerder onopvallend schakelt tussen verschillende damastmaskers naarmate het drama zich ontwikkelt. Ontspan terwijl je na de 90 minuten durende show terug naar je hotel wordt gebracht.

Travelling solo can have its downsides especially when it comes to hot pot and the amount of food so this is why I booked this tour, I didn’t want to miss out on the unmissable Chengdu experience. My guide Hayley promptly met me at my hotel and took me straight to a hot pot restaurant. She explained every detail and asked what I liked to eat. She then helped me navigate the correct way to eat hot pot. After a relaxing dinner we walked the short distance to the opera theatre where Hayley made sure I was comfortable before the show. The show is interesting but the best part is seeing the face mask dance where there masks change. After the show Hayley took me back to my hotel doorstep. It was a great night and I really enjoyed talking to a local person.
There were 5 of us who participated in this group. The dinner was fantastic - our guide, Green, did a wonderful job explaining and showing us how to cook hot pot. Delicious! It was then a very short walk to the Opera, which was absolutely wonderful. The performers were talented and the final performance (fact-changing) was just amazing. Definitely recommend as a great way to spend an evening in Chengdu!
If you are in Chengdu this is a must. The hotpot is delicious and the opera show very cool. If it’s summer get ready for the heat!
The company was exceptional. My guide for the evening was a very well spoken young women. she went above and beyond taking care of me during the dinner, showing me how it was done and we enjoyed talking about our countries. she then took me to a most spectacular show, which i highly recommend to anyone going over there. I laughed so hard and i didn't even know the language, it was so good.
<p>Hot pot was new to me and we had dinner at a community authentic Chinese place , very nice and the food was really good. The Culture show was just great , it was a fun evening and Jenny was a comfortable tour guide!</p>
<p>This tour was worth every penny! My husband and I got picked up in a Lexus limousine. We got picked up at 4:30pm. The local restaurant was the real thing and our guide ordered for us 3 beef hot pot. We drove to the Opera which was like a cabaret with 6 World class performance. At 11pm we where back.</p>
<p>It was great to go back stage to photograph the actors.</p>

<p>I was met by Jeli my guide and companion for the evening. Jeli led me through the options for the famous Sichuan hotpot. The meal was very good and she was lovely company. Afterwards we walked around the park to the Chengdu Opera. I enjoyed the show and was then returned to my hotel A wonderful start to my short stay in Chengdu</p>
<p>The food was great the show was great. I wish our tour guide would've explained more about what we were eating and what was going on with the show/performances.</p>
