Verken de stad en haar omgeving tijdens deze off-the-beaten-path fietstour! Ver weg van de Japanse metropolen kunt u genieten van een diepe verademing en de prachtige landschappen van Matsumoto City. Rijd op een elektrische fiets met je Gids door het platteland van Matsumoto en ontdek de belangrijkste historische bezienswaardigheden van de stad terwijl je geniet van een landelijke rit door de uitgestrekte velden rondom de stad. De ideale ervaring voor alle fietsliefhebbers! Matsumoto is gecentreerd op het Japanse platteland en is de ideale plek om op de fiets te stappen voor een verkenning van de stad en haar omgeving! Buiten de stad die rond zijn historische kasteel is gebouwd, biedt Matsumoto allerlei prachtige attracties. Verken de historische bezienswaardigheden van de stad, adem diep in terwijl je door de stad fietst, langs rijstvelden en de prachtige en traditionele Japanse boerderijen bewondert. De tour is inclusief een soba noodle lunch in een traditioneel restaurant op het platteland.

Met meer dan 400 jaar geschiedenis is Matsumoto Castle 1 van de slechts 5 kastelen die zijn aangewezen als “National Treasure” van Japan. De andere 4 zijn Himeji, Hikone, Inuyama en Matsue kastelen. De oorspronkelijke constructie dateert van 1593 tot 1594. De kasteelmuren bevatten de oudste originele kasteeltoren met vijf verdiepingen en zes verdiepingen die vandaag de dag nog steeds in Japan bestaat.
Ten oosten van de stad stroomt de Susuki-gawa-rivier vanuit de bergen naar beneden, langs de wijngaarden en rijstvelden en de prachtige kleuren van de rustige Yamabe-vallei. Verdwaal een tijdje terwijl je de rijke schoonheid van dit heel speciale stukje Matsumoto rond het Matsumoto Folkcraft Museum verkent.
Asama-Onsen Village ligt ten noorden van de stad Matsumoto en is de perfecte plek om een van de vele natuurlijke warmwaterbronnen in de omgeving te ervaren. Onsen zijn een integraal onderdeel van de Japanse cultuur en staan bekend om hun vele therapeutische eigenschappen. Matsumoto is tegenwoordig een van de beste bestemmingen in Japan om van deze thermale bronnen te genieten.
Verscholen op een lage heuvel net ten noorden van het centrum, Joyama Park is een van die plaatsen die stilletjes beloont de nieuwsgierigen. Het is niet de beroemdste stop in Matsumoto, en misschien is dat wel wat het speciaal maakt. Maar ga bergop, met de fiets of te voet, en je vindt er meer dan alleen vredig groen. Dit is een plek gelaagd met geschiedenis en gezegend met enkele van de beste panoramische uitzichten in de stad.

Our tour with Shin on the 19th of October was probably one of the best things we did whilst in Japan. It was so much fun to ride bikes to less touristy and more rural areas. We got to see a quieter side of Matsumoto and enjoyed a local shop and an amazing viewpoint that we would not have seen if not for the guide. Shin was informative and very friendly and we all appreciated the little gift at the end of the trip. 10/10

Shin was a great tour guide. He was knowledgeable about the area and set a nice pace for the tour. The bikes were a nice quality and we felt safe in the tour. E-Bikes is a good way to see a lot of any city.

What a great way to leave the busy centre and wander around the quiet back lanes and countryside. Kevin took us to some remote shrines, hot springs, rice and soba fields. Thoroughly recommend 👍👍

I’ve enjoyed the tranquility in the countryside and some off the beaten path like visiting the historic shrines which are not well known to the foreign tourists. I also enjoy learning the history of the places through the guide.

This is a really nice way to see you way around Matsumoto. The guide is knowledgeable about the area and history. Wished we could have had a few food or snack or drink stops . It was mainly riding .

What a wonderful afternoon we had, together with our guide Kai (at least we think that’s his name). The guide was punctually on time at the agreed meeting point, bike helmets in hand. We went to see shrines, the amazing countryside with marvellous views on the snowcapped mountains of the Japanese alps, and biked through rice fields, which -we were lucky- were being planted at this very moment. Cool experience. Kai -the guide- was very well informed and we were able to learn a lot about various topics, such as Shintoism, Buddhism, agriculture, earthquakes, samurai in the Edo period and so on… Very informative! We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who has a morning or afternoon available in Matsumoto…! The bike ride itself was very easy to do, so no need to be in ‘special physical form’ or something - haha… Thanks a lot mr. Kai, and who knows, maybe we will meet again!
